The ECU can be mapped for up to 5 bar of boost instead of 3.5?! :scooter:

Or is that too obvious LOL?!

That would seem to be the obvious answer mate

basically I've already got an AEM 3.5 bar map sensor to run with my AEM EMS however, I would assume (rightly or wrongly???) that an AEM 5 bar map sensor would be an upgrade?

initially I figured that a 5 bar would just offer scope for more boost (though not sure that my 'Z' will need 3.5 bar of boost let alone 5 bar, so that made me think that maybe there was some other benefits to be gained from having a more capable sensor)

pro's and con's....still drawing a blank on this one

No advantage what so ever, 3.5 bar is more than ample for what ever you can map the car too.

3.5 bar is good for 2.5 bar boost and is plenty for most Zed :) (you allow 1bar for vacuum)

As above, you can run 2.5 bar(g) boost on the 3.5 bar sensor. In your case the 5 bar is theoretically a disadvantage as you will loose some resolution although in reality you would never notice.

Cheers fellas

Well I've got both a 3.5 bar MAP sensor and a 5 bar MAP sensor to have a play with further on down the line now
