Took it to the garage last Wednesday for the MOT, called the garage to see how we got on to be told they had to take it to another mot station as it is to low for their ramp and had to go over a pit, called back later to find it failed on some bulbs, handbrake and lower front n/s 'wishbone'
Established they meant the bottom arm so got one from baz for Friday, worked my arse off Friday afternoon as finish at 1pm to get it done for a retest, 4.15pm all done and heading back to test, get a call from the garage to say MOT people closed early for bank holiday weekend so wll have to be next week!
Dropped it of following Wednesday for retest, called in the afternoon to be told it's passed :phone: but they ran out of petrol and the car was splutterng a bt so the wife will call in to pck up the keys so we can collect it later that evening. Get a call at 5.30 from the wife to say actually the car has failed, they changed their minds as 'I' have changed the wrong part :cursing:
So went to collect the car around 8, car ran really badly and was missing and stalling, got 100m down the road before givng up and calling the rac, they came out and couldn't fix it so got recovered home and got in at 12.30.
Thursday morning called the MOT to establish they meant the upper tie link arm :clown: so got one from Baz to delivered Friday also faxed the garage the notes about the play these things have but they didn't care or worry they made me change the wrong part. Got home to see what the running issue was, turned out they had managed to blow off a boost hose, put that back on but still running badly so also dried the plugs out.
Friday the arm arrives so head home to get it changed and head for a retest, guy at the garage is an ar@e asks if I faxed the papers and was I telling him how to do his job! He does the retest and moans that the arm wasn't new but passes it.
Finally get home and go through every connectors and hose clip there is and restart the car, running sweet as a nut so there must have been something lose, car now taxed and on the road but won't be using the idiot at that MOT station again and to boot the delay may have lost me a sale on the car :cursing::rant::rant:
What a saga to get an MOT!
