Hi all,

can anyone recommend a compound that will removescratches from glass (or at least reduce their appearance?

I have a few scuffs on the driver's side window of my ZX; and I also seem to have got a light single scratch about 5 inches long on the driver's window of my SLK.....

Thanks,

Richard:pinch:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Hi, I'm also interested, both of my door windows have lots of vertical scratches in them, whats caused this? i've not had a reason to take the door cards off yet, but something there must be scratching there when the window are down..

Cheers (sorry for thread stealing)

I've got the same type of scratches in both my door windows...i'm pretty sure its down to the rubber seal which goes across the top of the door...as rubber ages it goes dry, brittle and rock hard. I guess over time all the ups and downs of the glass against the hard rubber causes all the scratches....

My 2 penny worth.... :)

I've got those scratches pretty bad as well, I assumed that some sand/grit must have got down between the rubber and the glass.

Car.Mad, hurry up and use it, we're all waiting!

I too have scratches when they catch the light that are vertical on the drivers side

On my 1991 MX5, they are notorious for winding up and down very slowly puttting stress on the cables and motor  I sprayed or drenched wd40 or similar on all the window rubber guides and they go up and down a treat, repeat every six months or so

My brother inlaw uses tooth past to clean the scratches on his motor bike helmet

Remove the outer seal running along the top of the door frame - it is probably caked with dust & dirt - clean with soapy water & blast out with a pressure washer then allow to dry - it should be a nice soft felt!
