when i brake quite hard i get a strange noise that could only be described as a honk or a cat meow... weird, the car seems to brake very well and doesnt do it on normal braking.

Has anyone had this before?

when im stationary and i pump the pedal hard it sounds like im pumping up a tyre under the car at the rear??

thanks

have you checked under the car for cats or geese?

Does it coincide with coming off the gas; rather than the breaking action?

I only ask, because the ZX can suffer from "goose honk" if you have an aftermarket induction kit fitted in place of the air filter box! Goose honk occurrs when accelerating and then coming off the gas - something to do with the recirc valves IIRC.....

That's all I can think of mate.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

it comes from the rubber bellow thats up under the pedal box on the brake push rod through the engine bulkhead...when you push hard and fast it forces air out:yes:
