i was just browsing through zeds for sale, (as you do) and seen this one on PH.

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1893753.htm

i cant imagine why anybody would do a single turbo conversion? surley it would cost alot more due to intake issues and custom pipe work, plus re-mapping etc..

its very high powered by-the looks of the dyno, but still, why?

i can only imagine thatitwas a N/A and that he's slaped one turbo on it??

what do you lot think??

Its a lads on here. It was a tt and he slaped a single in it. purely because he wanted a challange and he could stick a huge turbo on it,

Dont think it cost him much because he did all the work himself :)

saw this at japfest in may and gotta say it looked very good , shame to see he's selling it .

It's mine and as Car mad says it was a TT but I wanted to do something different, I always do with cars. I like the challenge of getting big power with something 'off the wall' It's nice to say I have the only single turbo converted TT in the UK and with big power to boot!

also the main thing is that if the turbo goes then the engine doesnt have to come out to change, one of the big jobs to do on a zed and a thing that is always in the back of your mind

4 bolts, V band clamp, oil feed and drain and 2 hose clips and out she comes!!

i think its a cracking project mate, only thing is with this tyoe of conversion is, that some japanese tuning company hasnt done it and it hasnt been featured all over chav mags, people are scared of things away from the noirm and dont understand the technology behind it

still not sure on the zed with the turbos at the back though lol

I LIKE THE IDEA OF IT COMING OFF QUICKLY, DID IT COST ALOT? OR DO YOU REKON ITS CHEAPER DOING IT THAT WAY??

i must say, it looks stunning without the stickers in that thread posted, why you selling it then chap??

p.s. sorry for the capitols?!? ^^

To be honest haven't compared the cost to buying a pair of uprated power but think it was cheaper but no easier as a 1st off. I would offer anyone help if they wanted to have a go or they can buy the package http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=141502  I can change the turbo in less than 30 minutes, I recon 2 days to transplant the hole lot into an empty engine bay.

I needed to put some money into the house and get something more pratical so picked up a cheap EVO 4.

and is it a reliable 500bph? i still think its a little strange, but as you say, it is unique and you got the power! so fair play really.

Nothing strange about it. there are loads of rex's and supras that are on a single set up

yeah maybe, its just when people ask (when i had a TT!!) what was under the bonnet i loved saying TWIN TURBO! lol i love the idea of a 30 minute turbo change though!!

Been all good so far, the engine is a Jimmer build with uprated parts.
