sometimes when i come out and drive my car it goes great boosts well and pulls like a train other times you drive it cuts out then goes then cuts out and some times wont start for ages if at all the rev counter seems to go daft when it does this it last happen yesterday but today i drove it 80 odd miles and it never missed a beet

 

its a uk spec tt manuel

no faults showing on the ecu

 

you do always do have to wind it over for a bit to get it to start

its driveing me mad any ideas guys?

no smoke out of it and its not useing any oil

If it was my money I'd change the ptu first, they can cause it to cut out and not start when they get hot :)

just a second thought aswel could be a boost leak, some thing to do with vaccum system. just a thought starter

If takes a time to turn over could lead to PTU fault, but also if it only happens once and again, check MAF.

If they get slightly damp will mess around.

Do you have a standard of aftermarket nose panel with vents.??

either way check connectors and spade fittings on both, clean with a small file and some contact cleaner.
