has anybody ever tried going into nissan and asking for a replacement ptu . i know there was a recall on these in america and possibly japan but not the uk . as a lot of our cars are imports would we still be covered .

ive thought about going and doing the asking but nissan dont seem to recognise the 300 anymore .

good question, a shiny new series 2 for nowt would be heavenly, probably dreaming tho...

I would like to bump that question , I mean will be great if we could claim replacement of faulty part.

On a 25 year old car i doubt it very much lol, i think there is a time limit on recalls, i had a new Citroen relay van that had a recall on the spare wheel hanger and had to be done by a certain date.

The recall was only released by Nissan USA, it wasn't agreed in Europe or Japan. You won't get anything I'm afraid.

And you're too late by about 20 years !

It's lasted 25 years & there are plenty still in service.
