after doing a lamda sensor test a while ago (the first of many) it read that my left side sensor had failed and was reading lean. however the right side one read perfectly.

After doing a gas test, both sides are reading pretty much the same with "lamda 1" on both! therefore it would seem that they are both ok. but why does my ecu try to tell me otherwise?

How are you conducting the "lamda 1 " test?

The ecu test ie: via the inbuilt self diagnostic is very basic and can give the wrong conclusion either way, ConZult is the way to go with live readings.
