with so many obscure names on this site i just wondered how people came to have them. obviously some are just using their name but some aren't.

 

mine started because by day i was a mild mannered reporter but at night i donned latex and a cape and saved the city from criminals!! :lol:

 

No not really! I mine is just a nickname that started back in my karting days and it seemed to stick with me. Don't think it helped that i have been a bit of a rogue in my past either with the occasional dust up around town! :shifty::shifty:

Mine comes from my name and a silly song that my mates made up... I am Chris Cave, I was traditionally Cavey which then was sung as "cavey wavey chips and gravy" (Dont ask as I really dont know!) Anyway it got altered to "Quavey wavey chips and gravy" and Quavey kind of stuck.

It is different which means that no one ever has my username if I join new forums :) It also comes from my old eve character Mr Quaveworth which was an extension of the original.

Mine came from waiting for a v12 twin turbo jag , waited and waited and when it arrived i said atlast.

Having posted on this thread explaining my name and then talking to someone quite recently who thought my name came from the sound of blow off valves and so to explain to new members and also give them chance to post about there names I resurrect this thread.

"NOZ": The 3 letters I used to put at the top of the high score tables on arcade machines in my youth.

Mine is not because my name is tom, my name is dave.

My last name is Tomlinson. But because there were too many Dave's where I used to work, they started calling me tomo.

That mixed with the fact I love the film scarface = tomomontana.

I also use that as my Xbox gamer tag.

My surname is Gibson and my zed is a TT. My mates call me gib, gibby or gibster.
