with so many obscure names on this site i just wondered how people came to have them. obviously some are just using their name but some aren't.

mine started because by day i was a mild mannered reporter but at night i donned latex and a cape and saved the city from criminals!!

No not really! I mine is just a nickname that started back in my karting days and it seemed to stick with me. Don't think it helped that i have been a bit of a rogue in my past either with the occasional dust up around town! :shifty::shifty:

so what about you guys?? any interesting stories?

Mine originated from the site and forums of planetxbox360.com of which I was Part owner/admin/reviewer/writer/podcast host. Basically I was accused of having a posh surname by many and being one of the minority of British on the site - members bestowed me with the name Sir Charles Barrington and it stuck.

My real name is Sam Buca but found it got everybody p!55ed off with it

So decided to use Steve Burns instead but that never helped either!!!!

oh dear, mine is not from the hellraiser films, infact i have never even watched the films!!

mine comes from my old car which was a bright red cavalier sri saloon. which donned a little devil decal in the front window when i bought it, because i used to drive it like i stole it people started to call me a bit of a hellraiser from my driving antics and the little red devil....

hence HELLRAISER :)

i loved the film hackers when i was younger and the lead in the film went by the name zerocool so use it for most of my online stuff now just added my name to the end of it for here as zerocool was taken

Mines is from a sketch from "Chewin the fat" a Scottish comedy programme.

Bish & Bosh the painters, big mad minceyheid man.

It makes sense if you stay North of the wall.

Alan....

mine's from my Z - it's kind of evolved three times, at least in terms of bodywork.

first it was gunmetal grey, then the previous owner in Japan painted it white, then I had the first bodykit put on and painted blue, then I had it's current bodykit put on.

Completely on the spot made up name that I cant even pronounce properly (and everybody pronounces it different and spells it wrong anyway) and I hate it.

i say it as LEG RATH

ive seen it spelt like a french dyno sheet lol (legraph)

Rabid is my online gaming moniker that I use when playing Quakeworld .... Tommy is just to disambiguate my name from others who would use my online moniker.

I hate it when forums already have the name 'Baz' taken up, as I don't really like any other alias's. When I first signed up my name was turbobaz which at the time I thought sounded good, but after the film jingle all the way it seems a bit silly. I was lucky though and one of the admin staff on the site changed my for me when I started becoming more involved.
