And probably clocked looking at the odometer! The "1000" mile digit is in the process of moving on to the next number but the "100" mile digit is only on 7 - so it's out of synch......:tt2:

 

But to answer the question, it's most likely reading in miles (being US spec as Jeff says); but the boost gauge isn't reading too high considering......
