Well, my first real drive completed without any hiccups!

After the coolants leaks, pas leaks, vacuum leaks (caused by the garage

whilst attempting to fix the pas, with another minor one I still need to

find), safety boost (put the resistor back in and its gone!), wrong sized

tyres (previous owner and I had them replaced like for like without

checking!), broken sill (jacked up too close to the rear wheel and it sank

- still to fix) I was 'forced' to use the zed for my work commute - and it

made it!

I was very cautious, nervous and slow for the first half of the journey

given that the car hasn't done more than 20 miles straight since I bought

it, but figured what else can possibly go wrong now. It is idling a little

high and has been since the pas was fixed but I took it anyway.

What a drive, it is like instant power, the tail was a little twitchy was

planting it for an overtake at speed and there are a few niggling rattles

but wow - I'm so glad I got the TT instead of the NA now. These things are

amazing!

(just hope it starts when I get back to it at the end of the day!)

Nice one!

But don't seem so amazed buddy - despite the horror stories the 300zx is not unreliable....

......I regularly use mine for holidays where I may cover 1500 miles in a week with no hiccups; no fluid losses etc etc....

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Servicing and repaires have all been by Zedworld, bar the pas pipe where I had to go elsewhere as they were fully booked for three weeks. In hindsight I should have waited as the local place didn't do it right the first time, and it still isn't right now (the idle).

Its going back to zedworld soon, just need to find the time!

1500 miles in a week?? - don't know if I'd have the courage!

Join the AA or something and use your car with confidence. Its better to expose problems and get them fixed, rather than to always have a niggling doubt in the back of your mind. But best to have security, just in case - hence roadside assistance (I havn't, but then, I am absolutely fearless!).

Also, I hope you've learnt your lesson now - don't let any old spanner monkey on your Zed.. They're nearly as complicated as women (often as temper-mental too), so only trust a specialist - its probably cheaper as well.

And, most importantly, enjoy driving it! I burned £100 of liquid magic this weekend - I did a 160mile round trip just to watch the F1! I even got to dust my mate in his M3 (which cost him 14k) for good measure.

Good times

Yup - and some of that can be quite hard driving too! It's what the ZX was built for after all.....

......Once you've done a couple of long trips and gotten used to the car you soon build up your confidence in it. I trust my ZX so I don't think of leaving the daily driver behind for a week's holiday!

I have covered about 1500k in the last 2 to 3 weeks with not a single hiccup and performance has been outstanding.

Yeah these are pretty reliable cars when running tip top, I've been using mine as a daily for the last 2 years and not a single break down other than the odd leaking coolant hose.

Seconded. I put mine through its paces when I take it to France and usually cover 500 - 750 miles of quite spirited driving on my random haunts. Mine's been first class.

glad yours is running well i've had various water leaks on mine, and i was chasing them round the engine bay till every pipe was replaced, took it to a meet yesterday which was approx a 180mile round trip, on the way down i had a arse like a rabbits nose but the zed performed faultlessy and never lost any water hope yours is on the way to being a reliable one as well
