Haven't actually got a Z yet, I have just sold my MR2 so am in the market for a Z!

Looking for some tips on insurance - I'm 37 and female so hoping not to pay thru the nose for fully comp so any recommendations would be great.

Seen a couple of Zs online which I am hoping to view this week...

Cheers all

You need to take some suppositories for that.

Lol, suppositories are for the other end you know...?!!

Anyway, :offtopic:

Still no closer to getting me what I consider to be a reasonable quote.

So the real question is are ALL insurance companies total f**kwit rip off merchants or am I just being a doyle...?

Yup, best quote so far but only on 1500 mile p/a which isb't enough - have filled in a multitude of forms online tonight, hopefully tomorrow will get some brokers calling me back.

And I just took a call from the seller again, he's had an offer of £1600 from someone who hasn't even seen the car yet (?!), but he's just said he will put them off til after I view on Weds as I was the first to get in touch (is he CRAZY?!!)

This car is either woefully underpriced, he's telling porkies or other people know sommat about it that I don't!.......

By the way, have you lot seen this one

It my other option at the moment (impatient, moi?!)

Seller seemed a bit confused about it tho, told me he only had one MOT cert, my boyfriend called up and got told he had all the previous MOTs....

Whaddya reckon?

Look`s Ok, but they always do on the photos, best thing to do, is not to rush, take you fella down with you and have a thorough look all round the car and double check for rust and listen to the engine and have a loooong test drive, obviously you know all this already! (just checking)

That particular one is a Long wheel base unlike the `rarer` short wheel base as the yellow one is, I assume the swb will alway`s demand more money if its a good one, the best way to tell if its a swb is the position of the fuel filler cap, they are at the front of the wheel arch and lwb`s are nearer the rear of the wheel arch :sailor:

Don't be impatient with a Z. Take your time in finding the best you can. Look at a bunch of them. You'll soon notice the good ones against the bad ones.

Thing is, they look so good, that you could easily fall in love with a tatty one.

Steer clear of kitted up versions. Generally they look appalling and they'll have limited appeal when/if you come to sell.

Hallehbloodylujah!!!

Found a decent quote with a Japanese Import specialist, within budget, good policy, much better than Flux's policy. VERY excited - just hope the seller really does hold onto the car til Weds.

And pray that she fits in my garage!!!

:sweatdrop:

Cheers - my trouble is lack of time and ability to travel (got no car, oh the irony..)

And I have fallen in love with the swb yellow one already and its been owned by an enthusiast who is having to sell her since breaking up with his g/f - his loss sadly, could be my gain tho. Drooled over a similar one at Japfest, gorgeous....

Did you look at the link to the yellow swb one I am viewing on Weds? Its got minor body kit on, not ott in my opinion - its gorgeous in fact.

Trying to let head rule, not heart, but gut feeling tells me I could have a pretty yellow z in my garage 48 hours from now.....

If I could get to view it tomorrow I would, just can't get the day off work at such short notice, booo

PS, never seen a z like yours before, its lovely - assume its VERY rare - do you take it to the shows?

I've seen that, very nice car. (subtle bumper extensions work well along with plain skirts...when I mean plain, I mean ones without silly little pointless vents and creases/lines everywhere)....as well as ugly catfish / rabbit hutch fibreglass bumpers and huge pram-handle spoilers.

There are a few nice ones on Pistonheads too. Depends on your budget really.

Lol, where the hell else am i gonna dry my washing?!!

Going to see the car tomorrow, hoo and indeed ray...

Have you seen it in the flesh or just online. The ones on Pistonheads sell sooooooooo fast - and very rarely at a distance close enough to me where I can get there fast enough what with working full time and a little nipper....

Watch this space, I could be a new owner this time tomorrow..

There are two on Pistonheads I really like. There's a stock pearl yellow TT (UK model) with very low mileage which I'd sell my car for at a push!

As for the one you're wanting, no, just saw it online last week.

Got links?

Will no doubt be back on here tomorrow night with an update (and hopefully pics, hahaha)

Don't think I'm gonna sleep tonight!

Spotted the grey one the other day, the yellow one is lovely.

These cars are definitely better with the less is more approach - one on Pistonheads is suitable only for Barry boys :crying:

So, who is selling leathers..lol

Indeed. Nissan got it right straight out of the box. There is very very little you can do to the Z32 to improve its looks. Fitting all amounts of fibreglass claptrap to it only ruins the car.

A set of choice quality wheels and a good stance is about the only thing and a few detail features such as the facelifted rear lights.
