Last minute as ever but here goes - I think i'm going to get my wheels painted either tomorrow or sunday (got a slot to get them done!)

Anyway I dont know what colour to have them done so can we have some suggestions?

I was thinking Bronze, but I have had shadow chrome recommended to me a few times.

Also, as I'm totally useless with photoshop could someone please help by painting the wheels on the picture good colours so I can choose!

Cheers guys!

Anything but black :x:

I'm not sure about bronze on a silver car. Seen it on a green one and it looked good though.

What do you mean by "shadow chrome"? Pic?

An early picture I have of the car (when Mike had it actually) but has bronze Volk TE37's on there.

Shadow Chrome

I agree. Black only looks ok on a black car. Any other colour car makes it look like the wheels just blend into the arches.

Shadow chrome is like a dark deep chrome as apose to the mirror chrome we all see so often. I had Shadow chrome on my old '88 Prelude and they looked really good, but that car was black.

I'd say go for Silver or Chrome.

Peter

The bronze doesn't look bad actually (better than black) but maybe not 'special' enough.

I'm a fan of nice shiny silver wheels but do like the dark silver or "shadow chrome" too.

That would be nice, just worried it would be lost against a silver car.

Yeah like wise, I do like the bronze (infact i prefer the wheels and sometimes wish it still had those, but previous owners decision and all that!)

As for shadow chrome it looks good on darker cars, but again im just not sure about silver!

Anyone up for some photoshoppage ;)

Whatever colour you choose get them powder coated not painted. Much more durable and better suited to conditions down near the road. IMO

Them Volks that were on it originally did really suit it. Once again IMO:closedeyes:

Powder coating = expensive, painting = free LOl calling in favors ;)

Yeah I know the volk wheels suited it, really made it a classy car. I have looked into finding a set but rocking horse poo and expensive when I can find them! I do often think 18's look a tad large on a SWB but there we go!

TBH Chris, looking at the pics and at the risk of sounding picky (who, me?), the fronts are too low and the rears stick out too much.

:D ;)

powder coated charcoal would be very nice i think.

You mean the ride height at the front is too low? I have coilovers to fit which is going to even the ride height out as its currently got mix matched springs front and rear

But yeah I know they stick out a bit - hmm might be the market for some wheels at some point but anyway! Colours people colours!

gunmetal grey.

do one side bronze and the other side shadow chrome, then you can park it facing either way depending on your mood.. :)

In line with some of the others.....

......I'd personally go for normal aluminium/silver alloy coloured wheels. They may me a bit ordinary but they definitely go well with any colour car.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Hmm, not sure how that would look against the silver, I had grey wheels on my old one and was never sure.

Day glow pink

Maybe for some track day wheels lol

Lol, might forget which is my car then - not sure the combi idea would be so hot!

nice shiny Silver on a silver car look best IMO

Lots of people like the silver - just think it might be a bit same same but maybe thats not such a bad thing!

i like doing things that are different but sometimes you just have to admit everyone has chose it cause its the best option which i think silver on a silver car is

black and red look fine to me??

Mm silver on silver though so bland! LOL

Meh they are a bit chavy... I saw an astra the other day with standard wheels painted black and a red lip :nuke: Also i got ambushed by a bus in the village the other day that forced me into the kurb, one of them was already kurbed from the previous owner so now its time to paint them!

I really liked it with the original bronze wheels.

Yeah me 2! Still feeling the bronze I have to say!

Maybe it's the colour of the car that's wrong! :x:

Well its a fair point! I would have loved the car to be a different colour, but I just couldnt bring my self to have it repsrayed a different colour when it was painted simple because it would look awful under the bonnet etc.
