Just wondered after looking at the average zed owner tread, It seems that quite and few of you guys own more than one Zed.

Now i understand 1 might be for parts or a donor but why do some of you own 3-4 Zeds? and some of which seems the same spec i.e 3 N/As etc. i dont get it.

and as for the donor thing surely its more convenient to just buy the part needed as the spare car your breaking is never likely to have all bits working anyways?

For me personally:

1991 Z32 TT (UK spec) is/was my daily driver (now an ongoing track build)

1990 Z32 TT (Import) donor vehicle initially intended as the base for the Help For Heroes track car (hidden rust problem means it can only be a donor now)

1989 Z31 Turbo (UK spec) donor engine/leather interior

1988 Z31 NA (UK spec) the new base for the Help For Heroes track car (already stripped ready for SPARCO seat & roll cage to go in and new desert tan paint job)

1986 Z31 NA (UK spec) was to be restored to former glory however now likely to be sold to create a bit of space. Will be fitting the leather interior from the Z31 Turbo (just been contacted by the original owner on the DRIFTWORKS forum, 8 years after he sold it, I'll ask him if he's interested)

1995/92 600bhp MAZDA RX7 FD3S (Import) *got ripped off for £20k+ ongoing legal battle*

1995 TOYOTA HILUX SURF 3.0ltr TD (Import) daily work horse

1996 TOYOTA GRANVIA 3.0ltr TD (Import) 90% complete camper conversion to be sold on completion

1999 NISSAN WINGROAD 1.4ltr AUTO (Import) *Wifes daily runabout, only WINGROAD in the UK*

I'd own more than one Z if I had a double garage and my driveway wasn't full of Passat.

owned a lwb for nearly 5 years wanted a swb but it was only car and needed back seat. Bought wife a soloon so got myself a swb to do up as a project (lwb to be used till swb ready)then another swb i have had my eye on for a while comes up for sale so not wanting to miss it I now have 3 lol Gonna sell 2 though soon

When I owned 2 it was Mine (TT) and the Wife's (NA).

Also owned a few for breaking, but never really counted them.

I have the best of both worlds - one is a manual and modified, the other is a completely stock auto for cruising.

If I had the space I'd have another, IMO Daz has the best combo - a TT manual and a convertible

Thanks Bazza, and yes your right!! the best combo!!!

But to answer your question further isyss, the doner cars are a great investment in not only spare parts but also (if you are interested) a good car to practice on!! I have learnt soooo much when stripping the car down and knowing what make`s it tick!! When you go to a garage and have a look underneath your car it just looks so complicated(and is) but when you delve a little deeper it all makes sense and i am not frighened anymore of major jobs, they are still a bugger to work on but when you have had the experience in dismantling one it make`s it much easier to fault find.

I`ve had my TT for over 7 years now and have always been impressed by it, so when i found a Z31 that had been dry stored in a barn for 10 years i had no hesitation to buy it, my vert is relativley new to me and by far my favorite, I only bought it as it was fairly cheap right in the middle of reccession and without doubt the BEST car i have ever owned, so thats why some of us have multi zeds!! Sometimes a pain in the ass, as i am forever trying to keep my nan happy as one is in her garage and also paying the lock up fees to house the others, but in the end i think it will be worth it, i hope.

hmmm some interesting stuff.

well every once in a while i see a unique zed for sale that id like to have as a second but with so many other performance and interesting cars to chose from id still prefer an alternative driving experience like some of the new high performance diesels i.e BMW 535D / 335D as the torque is immense and nothing like iv felt.

the only other reason id buy another zed would prob be to restore it.

i couldnt be bothered with all the hassles of a targa top, so i got a slicktop and a soft top, if the sun comes out i go home and swap cars
