Collecting the zed from the garage tommorow, I have taxed it online but will not have a tax disk for a few days. Just my luck I will get pulled by the plod so is it fineable?.

Legally its supposed to be displayed in the window, however with the anpr and instant checks they can do im sure you will be fine. If its been done online and accepted it should be on the database.

I am sure if it comes to that you have reasonable mitigation, if the Tax disk hasn't actually arrived yet, you don't have a tax disk to display. You've paid for your tax...

Print off the reciept you got for paying it and keep it on you,

They give you upto 5 day if you have orderd it online so you will be fine

The offence is "Failing to display" so yes, you will be breaking the law. But like groover said, I doubt you'd be stopped.

I have not received the tax disc. Can I use the vehicle without the tax disc displayed?

When you apply for a tax disc online or by using our phone service you are able to legally continue to drive your vehicle for up to 5 days after the tax disc has expired while you wait for the new tax disc to arrive. This will only apply when you have applied for a new tax disc before the current one expires. You should continue to display the expired disc on your vehicle, until the new one arrives.

cool the old one expired about 6 months back as the car has been on a SORN but im sure the 5 day thing is the same.

print off the receipt and stick it in the window . if you get a pull call the plod a dickhead . he,ll be found giulty as charged

yes it is a fine you only get the first 5 days of the month to display the new tax disc over that you get fined for failing to display a tax disc, someone i know got done in same situation, but in fairness last tax disc i ordered only took 2 or 3 days to arrive

Well I ordered it yesterday and pick the car up today so I guess I will have to plead ignorance if I get pulled over.
