Helllo dear Zed Heds,

Guys, I need some advice on this please, i did some burnouts and doughnuts today. Then afterwards the car was feeling a bit funny, the revs were a bit too high. Within ten minutes the car stalled. I couldnt get it starting again. I tried starting without the fuel pump fuse, didnt work. found out that although the fuel pump is working (not very well though), there is no fuel passing through to the filter. Can anyone please give suggestion on what could be the problem apart from the fuel pump. Until today i had no problems.

Thanks guyyysss,

Vic

i love how nobody has ever arsed about in their cars before......

Never done a burnout or gone round doughnutting EVER.

ha slight backlash to mistreatment here. agreed tho zeds dont respond well to being piked round a car park. go buy a capri :D but glad it was nothing serious one to keep in mind for if summin simular happens during some spirted driving. (as they say)

yes you must treat these cars with kid gloves. I managed to delaminate my two newish front tyres going bit too fast. And these were pilot sport at around £250 a pop. Bent a track rod end too. I won't even mention the discs and pads over heating lol.

Course you have.

I have done over 100 burnouts at Santa pod with no ill effects other than losing some rubber off the tyres.:w00t:

What do you mean by delaminate? I've been in the trade over ten years and never heard of somebody "delaminating" their tyres? Think you been robbed mate

What's your registration number? Must remember not to buy your car!

You've never heard of a delaminated tyre?? Happens all the time on trucks - and more often than it should on trackdays too. All those pieces of truck tyre on the motorway are the result of delamination...

I've lit up my tires a few times in my NSX... didn't really seem that harsh on the car..

I think we've either got a few Accountants on the forum or a case of Pots calling the kettles black :)

...having said that, the length of the burn-out and using the brakes heavily - think you are begging for something to go "Pop!"

Am a tester and honestly never seen it, would have been taught av just never come across it or had it happen

not going fast enough round corners then lol. My garage thought it was due to the arches digging in at first but the tread has started to roll back as I would expect but then has started to lift quite clearly and can just see delamination around the tyre. This was at Silverstone and car was being pushed extremely hard. I think it may have been due to slightly low pressure but just not sure. I'll be going back to Toyo Proxes next. I'm surprised though that someone in the trade for ten years never heard of it. Do you test bicycle tyres by any chance?

FOOK ME your the classic reason text book testers have a bad reputation,no experience just a rule book and no experience to go on.What fast fit place do you work at.ATS or Kwik Fit LOL :mad2:

Came across plenty tyres that are distorted/split/cracked due to rubber coming away or the tyre being ran flat then re-inflated, just guess we don't use that word up this way? And no its never happened to me because I buy decent tyres.

I'm talking about Michelin Pilot Sport 2 and I don't believe they could be called anything but a decent tyre TBH.

To get back on thread, the point I was trying to make was that I push my car very hard and suffer the consequences of damage to various parts. It's entirely likely that most people may feel that justified due to the fact that I did this at the track. Personally, I think we should have our fun as we see fit and where-ever we see fit as long as we don't endanger others. I don't tend to spin my wheels these days but not too long ago I wouldn't be seen dead doing a three point turn when I bit of wheel spin would do the trick in much less time :) In fact as my rears are still in good nick and I'm gonna change them for Toyo Proxes I might do some doughnuts myself this weekend

Abuse means trouble!!!! FACT:death: Abuse something and it plays up. The car in the vid alot of people would pay good money for. Either people have to much cash or they haven't a clue about the car. Why spend money to abuse it. I just take my old tyres off and pay the 5 euro for disposal. Not rag the fook out of it.

Its like having your wiper blade going and then putting it on full chat for ten minutes in the sun!!!:hammer: POINTLESS!!!!!

LOL love how somebody av never met can comment on my knowledge/experience.

Although the idea of drifting/skidding/burnouts has always fascinated me, I've never been compelled to push a car beyond the limits of where it all hangs together.

Call me a pussy, but I get as much enjoyment out of driving my car within the limits of adhesion. I have exceeded it once or twice but that's invariably ended up with damage/embarrasment/a talking to.

I was taught to drive defensively by an ex-rozzer traffic instructor. Their rule of thumb is if it's not necessary then don't do it, and that includes switching things on and off, changing gear and losing traction. The best way to make progress and to reduce running costs is to maintain traction. It made sense to me and doesn't scare passengers.

But then I don't have money to burn on cars and I love mine so far so I want it to stay good.

Each to their own though. If it's your bag then why the hell not!!

I'm off to drop a piano on a Marina!! Ciao!!
