Drove behind a bronze GT-R from J10 of the M4 in to Slough.

I have to say that each time I see one, they are growing on me. It is a BIG car and very impressive in the flesh.

Always been very impressed with the GT-R from an engineering perspective, but never really found the looks to justify the technical brilliance. They are growing on me though, although the front is still very weak IMHO.

A definite for the future...

I tend to see a few on my travels o must admit. Amazing machines and a bargain for the performance. I would love one but just no way in he'll I could ever afford one. I can admire from afar though! I would to be taken out in one. the best thing about is that there seems to be no badge snobbery anymore! The gtr is a legend already, not like the 300zx or earlier gtr's which I'm sure were considered as not bad, for a nissan.

You're absolutely correct about the badge issue.

The GT-R is in the same league as any Ferrari, Lambourghini etc. from an image point of view. Mind you, it's simply known as the GT-R, and not Nissan GT-R, so may be there still is some snobbery.

Same as the Mini, Beetle, Prius, Sierra Cosworth, Impreza, Figaro etc. An exclusive club though, but one that even billionaires are a part of.

How strange. A black one overtook me today further back down the M4 today as well near Reading.

They are more common over here than the 300zx:yes:

It can only be a good thing for those of us wanting to buy one in 15 years time!

ime suprised by how big they are from any angle in the flesh:cool3:

i absolutely love those cars. i think they have real presence on the road and for the money if i had some then it would be a no brainer for me. they really are building some great sports cars to rival some of the best.

2 in Portsmouth, a black and an orange, have to say that, whilst not a colour I'd choose, the orange one really catches the eye (even from a distance) whereas the black one blends in with the rest of the traffic - not something a zed does.

Had a look at one at Goodwood and it's a seriously impressive piece of kit, especially for the price, but just didn't 'rock my boat' in the way other cars do.

I think that's the problem...they're mightily impressive and command respect but not love. On the other hand, when the Z32 was released in 1989, it was love at first sight.

i was down working across yorkshire for a few weeks and saw 5 different ones 2 grey 2 black and one white. and never saw any 300s lol

There are 2 on this forum too mate - PhilP and Clint Thrust both own one each........:smartass:

Top cars though - and not just "for a Nissan." Didn't the GT-R lap the 'Ring faster than the Veyron too........:whistling:

Richard:cool3:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I hated it when i first seen it but the looks have really grown on me. It has a massive road presence.

Only thing is, if something goes wrong it's a small fortune to fix. Wheel valve £200+
