Hi, I have tried the search but not had much luck.

Anyway, I am in need of new turbos or a kit to rebuild mine.

Does anyone know where I can get a kit or the best place to get new turbos, which ones and how much I can expect to pay?

If I uprate the turbos is there much else I need to worry about apart from injectors - I already have FMIC, exhaust, induction.

I am going to attempt to do this myself. My friend is a really good mechanic but has limited time so will turn to him to get myself unstuck if needed.

I have read on the forum that it can be done without lifting the engine but not found any guides on this.

If I do lift the engine is there anything that is worth changing while its out or will this just open a can of worms?

Also my car has developed goose honk so I am assuming I need to change the recirc's = bailey DV30s if I am correct? Or some atmospherics but plenty of threads on this

Many thanks in advance

There's a HUGE difference in price in getting a recon kit for stock turbos or going for a larger upgraded set.

What's your budget?

Steer clear of atmospheric dump valves. Waste of metal and air. DV30s should be fine as they act like the stock recirc valves and means your car will fuel and run as it should do.

I don't have a set budget, was looking into cost of options then to make an informed decision :)

I know it looks cheap, and the easiest option but I wouldn´t really recommend refurbishing the Turbo yourself, especially if you don´t have the right equipment and have never done it before. Also, whatever you do don´t buy a cheap chinees refurb kit off eBay...you´re better off buying a reconditioned or new one in the long run.

In my humble opinion that is.

Well, that answers a question I asked one of my esteemed colleagues today. Thank you.

I take it these DV30s are an upgrade item?

Are the stock items prone to failure?

Sorry for the threadjack!!
