from the information I've read on this site the "safe" limit for a standard vg is 1bar boost and around 400bhp, is anybody running more than this? I'm asking because my next mod powerwise will be bigger injectors and a remap to suit, I'm already running hks gt2530's and larger intercoolers so running more boost shouldn't be a problem but could the engine take it? I'm probably opening a can of worms here but want to know if anybody is running above the norm

Depends what parts you're considering 'safe'. Injectors for example run out of puff at 14.5PSi on stock turbos which is below 400bhp. The crank can handle around 700bhp.

really i mean pistons and rods, I was thinking of 555's or even 740's because I'm saving for a forged rebuild, just wondering what it could handle till then

525hp at 1.4 bar and no truble .i do take it to 1.6 bar occasionally too ))

vg are extremely strong from factory . as long as everything is in good nick and providing you have cometic head gaskets fitted ..)) have a look at my ride sir ..

Oh and headgaskets are standard too, lol so am guessing headgaskets will go before bottom end does, can headgasket be done with the engine still in the car or if it blows should I just leave it till I have the cash for a rebuild? Has nobody actually pushed their engines to the limit or am I going to set a new benchmark? I've heard of headgaskets blowing on standard boost but this could also be down to poor maintenance or mapping

you could get away with running more boost on std injectors but at 1 bar you have them at their max recomended duty cycle (about 80% i think) push beyond this on a cold morning and you may end up with a melted piston.

with the tubs you have i would not go above 10psi on std injectors

I've been running 1 bar with standard injectors at max flow for over a year and a half, but I'm talking the engine itself, standard from the factory, from manifolds in-over, how far can I push it AND maintain a reliable horsepower, with other parts uprated, I.e. injectors, turbos, intercoolers, induction

I know what you are trying to say, but i dont know the answer :lol:

Ive seen 407hp on stock tubs and injectors (not my car)
