Hi all,

Just a quick question, does anyone know if the R33GTS-T calipers are the same as our Z32 calipers?

The R33GTR calipers are the upgrades but I'm not sure whether the GTS-T cars had the same calipers as the Z32.

Answers on a postcard please ;)

Ah this is an interesting one, as far as I can tell the calipers on face value ARE the same, but there is something different, either the hub or the mounting lugs on the caliper as the GTS-T uses 296mm Disks as apposed to our 280mm ones

As far as i was aware the GTS-T uses the same as the GTR32 which yes both use 296mm discs and same calipers as ours.

Thanks guys! Reason I asked is that a customer of mine needs some Porterfield pads but there is no specific listing for a R33GTST ...

Zedwizz - I would be very interested to find out if the pads you're using are the same as the Z32 pads - please let me know.

is it free?

Ordered a set of Mintex front pads for my R33 GTS T and a set of Mintex MDB1748 for a 200sx arrived today:confused1:

I've checked the Mintex cat online and they don’t list a skyline so phone the company who supplied them and they said sold hundreds and they will fit.

I'll find out Sunday....

They are the same caliper thats why, they will be for an s14 200sx, but they share the same calipers as the Z32, R33 gtst etc.

Why do 200 owners buy 300zx calipers as an upgrade?

S13 200sx owners buy the front brakes from the S14 and Z32, S14 owners buy the REAR brakes from a Z32 as they are much larger than the standard S14 rears.

Why do 200 owners buy 300zx calipers as an upgrade?

Thats the 200sx S13 model mate, the earlier version with a 1.8T engine and 2 pot calipers, the

S14 is the bigger 2 litre turbo model and looks like the new silvia, in a way lol

But yes the S14 cars use the same caliper and pads (fronts) as us.

hmmm... i have 3 sets of z32 calipers sitting on the shelf. Time to get them cleaned up!!!

:) lol

the s14 calipers are cast iron but share the same dims as the z32

rear brakes on the s14 are single piston floating calipers with built in handbrake these are the same as early impreza.

if you want to convert an s14 to z32 rear brakes you need an n/a setup as the bearings are different.

i think z32 rear calipers will bolt up to an s13 as they are the same but aluminium

also out of interest for anyone you can bolt up the entire alloy upright from a z32 on to an s13 or 14 for a good weight reduction but you have to use rear shocks with a z32 fitting

Fitted the front pads to my R33 Sunday with no problems. Test fitted these to a Z32 calliper and every thing lines up ok.
