Been working on the LED conversion for the rear lights over the weekend and before I go any further with it I need some opinions on what would look best on the radius part of the light segments.

Looks very nice mate, good work.

Helps when you've got someone else's design to 'copy' though I 'spose too ;)

How much will these be available for when finished?

It speeds things up without a doubt but I thought I’d put a little more thought in to it lol

Not sure of price yet components and materials alone come to £109. I have just got to tot up the hours but these wont be anywhere near $1900.00 price tag for the clear corner ones and as I will be selling these as a kit to fit into your original units instead of buying the hole unit so should make them an affordable mod.

? WTF did I just quote ?

I've mastered the art of nonsense quoting. I now have the ability to tottally ruin a thread by quoting out of context 100% of the time.

Finally finished installing the components and fitting out the light unit. There is a gap of LED’s in the middle of the top section because this is where the reflector sits on the outer lenses so I decided not to install any LED’s here because you would not see them behind the reflector.

I just came in my pants. Very nice. Absolutely beats the shit outta the crappy clear-corners ones. Nice work. NEEEEd to see em with the lenses back on.

Well done Martin, excellent job. Can i ask why you put the resistors on the front of the board instead of the back of it? there'll be a little heat build up with those little suckers lol

The units i used were slightly damaged when i got them so the lenses arent in the best condition but, i will clean one up and put it on and take some picturers

Thanks Graham. What condition are the unit you have? The lenses on my unit aren’t the best.

The plan was to put the resistors on the back but lack of space on the ends and parts of the mid sections between the board and the light unit put pay to that.

Im no electronics expert so I use a LED array design program, which gives me the resistor, values to use in this case 1/4 watt. Do you think this is enough Graham ?

The lights look excellent, good work :D

Thanks

Im very pleased with them. Just a few alterations to do

OMFG..........sex wee .............send them to me now !!! that is pure zed porn and what zedders all over the world have been waiting for for years............i want them more than a Kylie and Danni manougue sandwich ...............do they effect the rest of the indicators bud??

If you can arrange a Kylie and Danni manougue sandwich Steve then you can have a set for free hell, I’d LED your whole car lol

The plan will be to sell these with plug an play connections so you would only need to plug them in to where you would normally plug in the oem light bulbs and a option of two pre wired Load Ballast Resistors for the indicators or If you wanted LED's back and front then you could just replace your oem flasher relay with one designed to work with LED's.

Hi Bud, i have the 99 spec lenses here and are virtually mint.

They will be fine, having one resistor per line in series is far better and more efficient when doing larger arrays. Top work.

How did you get on with the input board with the diodes? Did it make sense/work ok?

Cheers

Graham

Well the lenses on the units i used are well fooked but tthe bases are a1 maybe we could combine my bases with your lenses and make a good set for testing on some lucky chaps car :thumbup1:?

I made the input board circuit on a prototype board seems to work ok thanks a lot for your help with that mate.

I WANT I WANT I WANT how much!!!!! lol

:lol::lol:

I've done a few sums and it looks like its going to be around the £300 mark but I haven’t finalised this yet. But its all got to be test yet

Can i recommend that you use the diffuser plastic on both the top AND the bottom of the inner casing as apose to the red upper. Seen this done before. Ashleydc has these on her car which she bought from 300zxDre. They look far better than having the red top lens glass. I'd also point out that Andre spent a LOT of money on thses LED lights like the ones you have from the states. between £500 and £600 if i'm not mistaken.
