Sorry about this but i've had this several times now. And is starting to get frustrating.

I don't want anyone to think i'm a arse or anything but i think it's unfair and need to clarify a few things.

My parts for sale, They are some of the best parts around money can buy. I'm far from wealthy i saved my ass off to buy these parts and made sacrifices etc.

Cheaper version of my parts Yes no doubt you can buy cheaper versions of my parts but these are made by different people and wouldnt be to the same quality.

If you want to buy a cheaper copy then good luck to you.

But when and if they fail the cost would way out way the price difference.

Good examples:

Actually i can think of two good examples of cheap parts and why not to skimp.

Ebay Turbo:

Someone i know bought one, it made rubbish power and made the car undrivable then the turbo failed and ended up causing major damage to the engine.

Cheap Wheels:

You can get cheap copys of wheels, i wasnt out this night but couple weekends ago some guy was running cheap copys of a qualty brand and the outside part of the rim ripped apart from the inside spoke part of the rim.

Cheap respray/engine build:

I've had both, learnt the hard way both times. Had the car resprayed a second time as it was pants after a couple of months first time round. As for the engine i had to scrap the built engine i had built first time around and start again as i tried to get it built on the cheap. That's before it went to Thor and why it went to Thor which turned out nasty anyway.

It's like everything. Even clothes you can get good quality or rubbbish quality. Wash once fadded or 100 washes still the same.

Sorry to everyone else, but i've had several people now saying well why would i buy your product for X amount when i can buy this for such n such. Well it's a completely different product made by a completely different person. Noway the same quality. If you want to risk it and get the cheap copy then go for it and good luck. If not then i have my parts here which are high end parts. Which believe me are at a fraction of the price it would cost you to buy the parts i actually have. Also not forgetten how pants the pound is at the moment so parts are costing even more meaning my parts are better value in a way.

That's the cheap copys.

As for parts like my exhaust system where you can get half decent systems for less.

This is the best of the best, if you don't want that level of quality then that's fair enough, there are cheaper systems out there and if that's what your after then go buy it.

Would anyone walk into a shop and pick up some designer clothing walk over to the counter and say i can get exact the same as this well pretty close from primark. You wouldnt do it. It's exact the same.

So why compare my stuff to other cheaper brands when it's not the same thing? It's not fair and makes me look like i'm ripping people off when believe me i'm not as the money i paid for my gear is far more than i'm advertising it for and most parts are brand new. I'm a half decent guy and would hate to think someone thought i am ripping people off as i'm not.

I'm shocked really to be honest.

Can't believe people would compare a product to another of less quality and say it's cheaper, if so and your happy with the cheaper alternative then go buy it. It's not the same as the other item so why compare it???

Sorry about this moan, but i'm really frustrated as it's happened several times now, and i feel really annoyed that it's been hinted i'm ripping people off.

What the old saying.

Buy cheap buy twice.

Ok that doesnt apply for all my parts.

but it goes for the pulley. Ebay copies? good luck to you.

parts like the exhaust system you can get good products for less but it's still not the same quality but good enough. But my exhaust system is one of the best. If you want the best products which some people do then you pay for it.

Can't believe i'm even here justifying my parts, if you want cheap crap off ebay then go buy it.

Look at my parts as a way to have some of the best gear for around the same price of parts of lesser quality.

Rant Over. For now :whistling:

Also to apoligise to everyone else.

Reason why i took this personally is because i worked my ass off to buy these parts, i've got nothing to hide and allot of it was on finance. I know what i paid, i know the loss i'm making. As mentioned above i'm far from wealthy and it has took a massive blow to my pocket and is very dis-heartning having to sell my parts and especially for the loss I am making on these parts compared to what i paid for them.

It's not just here either.

Getting it on another forum.

My wheels for example.

Getting comment like, you can buy them for £1000 used so think you are asking too much. Well i paid over £3000 all brand new never driven on. So how is £2000 too much? I'm taking a loss of £1000 and that was from when i bought them, it would cost you allot more to buy them now than when i did.

Am i missing something here?

No mate you`re not, some people will always want something for nothing.

It`s the poundland culture, i think, sadly, it takes somebody who has gone through similar situations regarding parts/labour etc. to see what a deal they`d be getting.

Hang on in there mate.

No one is accusing you of ripping people off fella, we all no you paid good money for good parts and like evry person on this forum who sells something, they want to make as much money back as possible. but what you also have to realise is that just because someone else makes the same parts and there cheaper doesnt always make them poor quality, just means someone is prepared to sell them for less margin and hope that they make that up in quantity sales.

My comment in your pully thread was not meant as a dig as i said. I suggested that it maybe worth advertising elsewhere also as you are making a very big effort to sell parts on here but seems your having little luck.

I hope you do sell these parts and get good money for them, but you keep saying in your threads these are genuine parts, granted there also second hand.

And other companies do make the same parts and do have some amazing build quality. Just dont knock other manufactures fella just because its cheaper doesnt always mean its poor quality.

all the best on the sales

Craig

Top quality parts are hard to find in the UK at times hence why most of my parts are coming from Japan or the US. Keep your prices there if someone googles the parts they will see for themselves how much they cost brand new :)

Jaffa you have some nice stuff but most people on here dont have big kind of money to buy it. A lot of members run their cars on shoe strings and just cant afford the money.

Personally I do think you might want to re think or at least research current prices as I know a few bits of yours I was thinking about were about the same as buying them new. I now know a lot of my stuff is less expensive than when I bought it less than ten months ago.

You pay for what u get at the end of the day. Your items are top brand names for a top price. You can still get good quality less, but that then comes down to each person on what they are after and how much they can afford. I'm sure you knew you would struggle to move your parts at those prices, as you bought them for your taste nobody else's so pro e was irrelevant. I'm sure they will shift at somepoint tho. Good luck with the rest of your items.

I feel for you Jaffa.

Only my two pence worth - it would be easier for the buyer to perceive value if they knew what brand name parts they were actually buying, like with the pulleys for example. It is always easier for somebody to compare if they knew what they are actually buying.

I agree with you on quality. The dear product often works out the cheapest and the the cheapest the most expensive.

ive seen lots of his parts and the quality of the genuine products (which he has) are so far superior to copy's its a joke, but you have to pay for the best tho. if i had the money id buy it all. good luck with the sale's

Your parts are top of the range items, no doubt about it! Trouble is most people running these cars would not be willing to spend as much as you have (or even reduced prices as you have them up for!). You will only have a very limited market for what you have, even at the reduced prices!

Ultimately something is only ever worth what someone is willing to pay!

Good luck with the sales & would love to spend the sort of money you have on my car!! :punk:

When I look at your stuff for sale I think 'WOW'

I wish I could afford it as I'd spend a fortune with you, but unfortunately my budget stretches to ebay bargains lol

Spot on mate - that and the Ebay culture.

We all know just how much top quality items for these cars cost; but when you have new owners paying £1000 for their whole ZX on Fleabay they unfortunately want to modify it on the cheap as well. And they'll be the ones crying into their beers when it all goes wrong!!

Yes, you are selling some very expensive items and, despite the comments you have received, I believe that somewhere out there is your buyer. You just have to persevere until that person finds your advert. Those Blitz rims, for example, are the dogs danglies. But at £2k are too rich for someone with a £2.5k ZX. However someone no doubt will be looking at building a £20k ZX and suddenly your wheels are a bargain to him considering their new cost!

Don't get negative mate - stick it out and I'm sure you'll find that elusive buyer.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Dropping the price every few weeks wont help either, makes you look desperate to sell so people will wait until they drop further and further.
