on recent inspection, i noticed the relay for my aircon is missing. its just not there the prevoius owner must of eaten it or summin. if i do turn my air con on it always blows hot air no matter what temp its set on. ive had a good look about the forum but couldnt find anything that directly answered the question, apprantly some people by pass the air con relay? just wondering what the deal is cos with this hot weather atm it would be nice to have the air con on on the motorway etc. other half gets annoyed with the t tops off at motorway speeds summin about hair getting messed up :) my other worry is i understand that the eletric fan is related to the air con so if its not worjking as a result of this missing rely i dont wanna find a surprise traffic jam and over heat.

Its done sometimes to stop the clutch on the aircon from engaging, either thinking it will save on fuel, or needed a regas and couldnt be arsed.

Stick a relay back in and try it, it will either work or it wont, no damage to the engine will be done.

ahh that was i was worried about, im guessing its probally the regass needed and couldnt be assed as you say knowing the other bodges i found on this car so far
