Thanks very much guys, in the process of changing the private reg to my own at present, so I'll invest in a smaller plate! lol only poblem is there are a load of chavs around where i live, so have to be careful with tiny plates - got completely set up by the police for the plate on my bike! (which had been through 2 MOT's like that!)

Welcome mate - Car looks very nice, clean and straight :) - I'm getting a complex about my plate now due to this thread lol..

I don't know if this is the Z that was on sale in Newbury last June...one of the photos is from the dealer ad last year.

I thought that, it's the photo with the engine running which i have seen before.

Another shiny black zed..

Yeah guys it is the one that was for sale in Newbury, I rescued it from the algae growing on it languishing at the back of the car park, getting mouldy. Didnt look like the pictures when I picked it up!!! lol

Thought so and good luck to you! I went to see it last June as it looked great in the photos, but was quite frankly shocked when I saw it. It was kinda sad to see such a great car neglected like that. From memory, the paint was faded, the lights looked cracked, various panels did not look quite right and in summary, it was a mess. Not sure how they managed to get the photographs they did. Needless to say my wife walked away within 2 minutes; I hung around for 5 out of honour for a once great car.

How's the last year been then?

Hi mate, yeah like I said it really did not look like it does now when I went to get it! Got it for a very cheap price in the end and I couldnt stand to see one so neglected like that! In reality, mechanically, the car is absolutely spot on, had a conzult done within 2 days to iron out a couple of glitches, put a new battery on serviced it and it has since been completely faultless. Believe it or not, I drove it every single day through all of the foot deep snow we had up here all winter, she never coughed spluttered or skipped a single beat!

And with regard to the body, the tailgate and spoiler were shot, which have now been sorted and after some love and attention the only issue really is the n/s/f wing which had a few marks and a tiny bit of surface rust on the o/s/r wing. In truth to be bob on all she needs is a blow over and some bigger wheels. Great car and glad I rescued it as I think much longer and she may have been a goner! Thanks for asking matey

Mate, I think we are all glad to hear you rescued her, such a shame to see these beautifull cars just left to fall into disrepair.

make sure you keep us all posted with pics of your restoration progress.
