Hi there all,

I know its not a Z32 but it's the older brother of ours. Having not seen another 300ZX out here apart from Jonce I nearly fell of my bike when this shot past me. It belongs to one of the German civvie guys that work in my hanger, he don't drive it much as he cant easily get parts or people to work on it (sound familiar).

Enjoy, Rob

Looks great, i'm a big fan of the Z31 but yeah i think parts are little harder to source than for our model

That is real nice, looks pretty clean too.

I am trying to get mine on the road this summer, then we could hold the smallest club meet ever!

Haven't seen another Z32 down here in years.

Which is kind of nice.....

I've read this a few times on this forum about people struggling to source z31 parts...I've yet to have any trouble, suspension and brake parts are readily available new from loads of vendors and anything else I've sources from scrap yards without any bother at all as well as ebay, folk breaking them appear on there fairly regularly...maybe I've just been lucky and hopefully I've not just jinxed myself because my MOT is due in a month or so.

Yeah thats what i was going by really and others i've heard say the same, i wonder if Daz has any contacts through ordering any for his?

Theres plenty of coil springs, spark plugs, brake discs, poly bushes and stuff like that for the z31,

but ive been struggling with coilovers or decent shocks, stainless exhaust, engine rebuild kits, gaskets belts bearings ect. Had a look on mr.f (eastern auto). He has quite alot of sevicing stuff but not the main things i need. I do want to rebuild this car properly and really want to use new parts. Im Considering a engine swap for this reason. Any other advice would be of great help.If i can manage to start gathering all the parts in need for a rebuild on the zed motor, I can then book jimmer in to work his magic! otherwise its a bank loan (which i could do without)and down to zannetec motorsports in somerset for a v8 conversion!!

Have you contacted MJP ? , the website in no way represents the full range that MJP supply.

maybe its only me but iv always really disliked the Z31 out of the Zed range. i love the older ones tho. prob the only instance where id prefer to have a Silvia S13 of that generation instead of a Z31

Depends how much stuff you are ordering to make shipping worth while but Courtesy Parts have just about everything for rebuild with gaskets, belts and bearings etc

Gaz have done coilovers for a few people, one in this driftworks post - http://www.driftworks.com/forum/drift-car-projects-builds/108633-zeto-saichi-nissan-z31-2-seater-swb-kouki.html

Thanks guys for the tips.I havnt called mjp yet as ive just been googling! Trying to find as much info on the net as possible before starting the mechanical work.In the meantime i can continue prepping the body.

I know the z31 isnt everyones cup of tea but i think i can get mine looking pretty nice with the right bits. The build on driftworks looks bada55 that low!

Heres a few pics of mine looking abit sad! I prepped the body and painted it last summer, i colour sanded and mopped the rear end and roof it looks pretty good but the black was a bit browny in sunlight for my liking so i lost interest. The front is straight out of the gun. I will start to reprep the car soon ready for a pearl black.I have managed to get it very straight considering its age but there are a couple of imperfections i need to redo. As its running like poo i think i will get it running and sitting right before the repaint.Thats of course after i cleared out my discrace of a garage!

Looks tidy ryjay. What condition are your headlights in? Mine are pretty rusted inside and note producing much light, I ordered a replacement set from a breaker last year, when they arrived I realised they were different for the facelift model so I have a set that are no good to me and should fit yours if you are in need of them? Gratis

thanks dude! it came up for sale and i just coudn't pass it up, was a big trip, all way from scotland to plymouth to pick it up and drive her home! she served me well tho, 500+ miles without a hitch!, headlights on mine seem ok, they intermittently work, some sort of electrical problem with the raising and lowering of them they seem to flap up and down a few times before they stay up? any ideas what would cause that?

Dunno I've not had any bother with my lights apart from rust :cursing:

Maybe a short circuit or loose connection caused by 'lights on when down' mod going wrong or aftermarket stereo installation?

Any other early model z31 owners out there in need of a set of headlights let me know and I'll dig them out.
