hi everyone -

i wanted to say hello. I have a 1993 Japanese import 3L TT - and it's a beauty. Having trouble finding a knowledgeale garage... Nissan can't get parts anymore, unless you wait months... does anyone know if ZTech are still operating? Or Zed Cars? Any suggestions appreciated - i travel between London and Wiltshire. Thanks...

Hi bud, wecome to the club! Zedworld has a great reputation up in Tamworth, Birmingham, may be worth the 2 hr drive mate.

welcome to the club mate - if youve not already discovered, it's best to keep away from dealers! the poor guys don't have a clue about the 300 any more, as I've learned through my own experience too. you can't go wrong with ZedWorld nr. Tamworth ;)

Hi matey,

Totally agree, Zedworld in Tamworth is ur best place for ur location.

thanks all 3 of you - appreciate your help. Nissan dealers really have no clue about this car, it's true. I'll get up to Tamworth and see what they say. My main thing is that my shocks are shot - i've had a lot of conflicting opinions... disable the ECVSA, get KYBs, don't get KYBs, get Tokikos, etc etc - I'm not savvy enough to figure this out, but I know I need new shocks. I'm not a low-rider, but I want the car to handle well on the open road, and also to cope with the ridiculous bumps of urban driving. What you guys think?

Welcome to the club, bruno. I haven't been to zedworld yet but you'll see a trend on the forum, and everyone that has been there give it the big thumbs up and thats what counts with our cars.

Do you have any pictures of your Z? regarding the suspension, depends on your budget really, if you can stretch to it then a set of coilovers and decent tyres will make a hell of a difference to handling, you can alter the height to suit yourself, but depending on the set you can also adjust a whole range of stuff. For new ones, BC coilovers are around the cheapest decent ones, so you are looking £570+.

Welcome mate.....and agreed Z world is your best bet :) I’ll be honest I’ve never had trouble getting most parts from Nissan though, but generally go elsewhere due to the cost

Enjoy the forum

thanks Baz and Chris - appreciate the info re coilovers - but I still need shock absorbers, one way or another, and Nissan can't get them. What kind of shocks do most people use? Do we care that the electronic variable suspension has to be disabled? I've searched many threads on the site, but can't find much info on this.

I'll find a photo of my car and put it up - it's a 1993 Pearlescent White, completely original except the original (Japanese) owner put in Recaro seats.

Just wanted to find out how to upload a picture of my Z...

Can't seem to find any upload button in My Account area.

Would be nice...

I'm just looking into the re-chipping thing. I've read a lot of threads on that, and I know that you can boost the HP considerably, but that it also wears the engine down more quickly. Is there a particular strategy that Z owners like to follow?

Welcome Bruno,

To upload a photo, first upload your pic to http://www.photobucket.com then copy the IMG Code from photobucket into this sites text box.

Welcome to the club buddy!!

As echoed above, Zedworld is definitely your place for 300zx service/repairs etc. If you need new OEM parts you can also contact Mike Feeney from MJP (see traders section). Based Ongar/Brentwood way, he's not a million miles from London.....

Just wanted to say thanks to all those who recommended Zedworld at Tamworth - Jeff analysed the whole car, made a few key impovements, charged me a very reasonable price, and sent me on my way... in a car that now performs TWICE as well as before. I'm ready to drive up there again, even though it's 3 hours (well, not any more, it isn't).

A life-saver for all 300ZX owners.

except the original (Japanese) owner put in Recaro sea

Nothing wrong with Recaro's matey.......
