Why are cars made after 1995 significantly more valuable than those 89-95? After 95 the variable valve timing was dropped, reducing power and drivability. You'd have a hard job retro fitting it.

Pros and cons. Later cars do tend to be a lot more spartan and less spec'd though. I think the best spec'd cars are series 2 ones. I like models from all years though. Newer ones are great, but I think I'd plump for a series 2 SWB TT targa if I was going to go for another.

That is very true! Standard my car has sweet F A kit, cloth/tweed manual seats, manual heaters, no cruise etc etc.

That's ideal for a slicky though. But slicktops generally were the lesser spec'd cars. Series 2 had velour, digital climate, electric seats (both) and most had cruise control.

Yeah true! Considering mine doesnt even have aircon anymore, although I have put leather seats in it now from series 1, just electric drivers! (It did have Series 2 velour seats both electric!)

Its going for tracking soon might see if I can get it weighed while im down on the industrial estate!

I'd do a Legrath and get some good bucket seats for it. They suit the slicktop. Bucket seats in a targa car look a little naff. The slicky is more hardcore, but I couldn't live without my toys and t-tops.

If it goes all out track machine then yeah I think I would, problem is getting Han to like it at the moment I dont think bucket seats would go down so well! LOL (one of the reason for leather etc, make it more like the M3 that she misses dearly!)

Women have no taste when it comes to cars!

Tell me about it! She doesnt like silver cars so thats the main issue! LOL Which kinda makes me wish I had changed colour with the respray but then it would loook shit under the bonnet and that and all the hassel with the logbook and that.

Haha to be fair, I didnt buy the car for the colour! If I had the money, it would be engine out, baremetal restoration and a respray in midnight purple. Although really if I had the money, I would be able to find a better example in Japan and just not bother with this one, make it into the track machine it deserves to be!
