Will only work if everything above the window line is carbon and the bonnet too. Works on the 350Z but cant imagine what it will be like on the 300ZX. Thought about doing it to be honest.

Maybe somebody could photoshop a pic to see.

Or paint it!

In my opinion you pay the extra money for the carbon look, obviously there is the weight saving too. If your gonna paint it might as well leave the metal one on!

Quite a lot! The stock trunk lid is very heavy. Only thing I'd be concerned about is fitment.

You can get rid of one of the struts too....but knowing you, you'll weigh it down with that ironing board you have strapped to your current one! :wack:

unless you track your car is it worth buying???, maybe if you went the whole carbon look then it could be a show car, but i doubt its worth the cash unless you are a track enthusiast

i wasnt actually going to buy one just thought id post it for people who do the whole weight saving thing thought it might be something for them to look into

If you were going to paint it, wouldnt you buy the fibreglass one he is offering as it weighs the same, and is easy to paint compared to painting over CF!

Also you have to note that our cars are already front heavy, so by making a bigger front to rear weight distribution you are only to upset the handling more and more. Global weight reduction is justa s important as correct weight distribution. :)

Plus as all the weight in the front you would suffer major under-steer, so you would have a RWD car that handles like a FWD LOL!

i love the carbon look & since i found out this week that my paint cant be matched :-( i have been toying with the idea of going carbon effect top half like jimmyTT but carbon instead of black paint,

Interesting, Never seen a 2+2 Carbon or FIbreglass tailgate before.

I'd paint it if it was me. CF is ugly. You use it for its Weigth saving and Strength properties, not looks.

:duffer:

wow thats cool, i would paint it though. Be good to see all replacement panels in carbon fibre, bet the car would be very quick.
