Car is a cat C. Has had some damage to front wing and bumper, not very serious. I'd say about £400 would fix up this problem. The real issue for me was a loud gearbox wine that drowned out the engine, surely you shouldn't be hearing the gearbox loudly inside the car in all gears. What could be making this noise, any ideas? How much to fix it, or should i just walk away?

Id say either the clutch release bearing or the propshaft centre bearing unless you were going to do it yourself would become quite pricey. Did it make the noise with the clutch pressed down?

my box is whining, if the noise appears when the clutch is pressed, it's the thrust bearing. if it's making the noise in every gear and in neutral when the clutch is up then, it's the main bearing in the box which is a big job to get to and very pricey.

Mine does that and I was told it was the thrust bearing. I will have to visit Zedworld to get it checked as it is getting worse.

My box whines in all gears and in neutral. But...........my bass drowns it out!!!! :cool3: lol.
