its different. i was thinking of somthing similar. but it was a continiuation of the centre cover which covered the gaps in the plenum. so it went

I do - but no good for me as I have a high level fuel rail taking up the space where the usual throttle cover goes - so whilst being creative thought I would try something a bit different ;-)

hmmmmmmmm.

certainly different mate, may look nicer when finished and fitted.

naa looks crap mate, you should send it to me, so i can fit it on my crap engine, in my crappy engine bay.

To be honest the first mould did exactly that - I will see if I have pics, but I did'nt like it and after a lot of frantic sketching I believed this was what I was looking for. I have made a few different styles - I called theses 'BATCAPS' lol for obvious reasons.

Cheers for your comments - appreciated.

Hmmm - it's kinda hard - I don't want to cover the polished plenum too much - I could easily make a carbon cover for the whole thing!! But I want to try and get the right look - and I kinda agree - because the placement of the flumes it's all naturally off centre and looks un-pleasing to the eye - needs framing or balancing - let me think about that for a bit ;-)

Andy, it doesn't look that bad, it looks quite good in fact, but, it looks a little unfinished if you like. Maybe extent it a little more, or try and blend the c/f with the aluminium plenum. Only a thought matey.

Al.

Rest the throttle body cover over the top and get another picture up, I'm sure it would look a lot better, you have to remember your modeling it on something that's off the car and not in its natural environment. i believe you would get more of a feeling of what its going to look like if you just added a few more parts that will be on the engine if you put it on properly

Not a fan, sorry. Never really seen the appeal in the whole 'carbon fibre look' either.

i think when it is finished it will look better than it does now but not for me! I would scrap it and carbon fibre something that is useful and take advantage of a weight saving opportunity! Not to doll things up :)

Function over form FTW :)

Hi matey - I have a custom high level fuel rail - so the throttle cable cover does not fit anymore. There are some (small) carbon fibre mounting blocks holding the rail in place, and I was trying to add something to enhance the look, but I think I drowned it.

I don't support/like the whole carbon thing either - but I like the less is more styling where small quality carbon parts enhance the overal look. I think I just over-cooked it.

Appreciate your comments. Keep em coming ;-)

Well i have to admit if it was a complete cover that did the plenum, id want one lol yes im sad, but would save me having to get it polished :P
