Hi, As you probably already found out soaking the headlights in a sink full of hot water will separate the glass from the headlight unit.(NO SCREWDRIVERS!) unless you want a broken lense!I didnt fit new inserts on mine when i had it but did dismantle them to colour code the existing inserts. I used bodykit sealent to re seal them it did the job ok.

Hey Craig,

just did mine......

there is a guide on how to fix them but not sure about the upgrade....

the 99 style inserts don't give a perfect fit (well not the ones I used anyway), you get a little gap right down the front edge (hard to unless you stand right over them once their in the car).

so firstly I'd advise making sure you have some way to conceal the gap (filler, silicone, cork or something).

i also put the old chromed rings back on the lens.... again i used a dab of silicone to hold it in place...

I then used a dab of silicone in a couple of places to stop movement rattling.

If you go to a car windscreen fitting place they will sell you some of the same stuff that holds it together (that way you can get them back apart if you want or need to).

Thats there on the genuine plastic ones. Next time you have a look at stock ones you will notice it

Its proberly just because you are fitting somthing new you have noticed it ;)

I will have a go fitting them sometime next week, however I can not make my mind up, to paint them chrome black, Chrome plated for matching the colour to the car.

Does anyone have any pics with the 99-Spec inserts colour matched to the car.

Cheers!!

Thanks Car.Mad, Medallion Man, enzoztt,
