Would be ideal if it was already converted

Is there a little switch anywhere near the gearstick or dash though with no markings on it?

there is always the add on option, but i have that and cant wait to convert the lower reverse lights to fogs :D

Chris

No switch that looks like it would light the fog lights.

I have a good few switches that are not standard in this car but all accounted for.

Dave

Very Nice, I love both zeds, the Yellow one looks the best overall, but i like the rear of the silver one. :thumbup1:

I love em both would be hard to decide :(

... and lol Dave maybe another switch soon then? :turned:

Very nice pair

I really like the rear of the silver one, but never really been a fan of the front! love the yellow one though.

im not a big fan of yellow, but it looks so much fresher than the silver, i think its that front bumper that does it. i have the same nose panel and spoiler on my zed. but id love one of those 99 spec front ends they look the nuts. im pretty desperate for jdm tail lights aswel but there not in my budget atm other things to buy lol

as i said in my original post mate very nice rear for the silver but not the front, reckon if you got a 99spec front bumper along with a smooth nose panel it would look spot on mate!!

Your yellow one looks nicer but whats under the bonet of the silver one is in a different leage to your yellow one, like I said when you bought it, I was going to replace front bumper with 99 spec, remove the high level spoiler (no spoiler at all) remove the skirts, go with the stock bonet to give it that smooth look, must say though the rear of the silver one looks nicer, I hope your enjoying it.

Stick with the Silver one! It just needs some TLC :)

Yeh Dave best plan i think:thumbup:

~Red switch in the top panel of the light module. Unless someone has moved it. The bulbs were wired with double element bulbs so that the rear lights are double up as fog lights when the switch is activated.

If you haven't got the switch there anymore. i.e. someone after me removed it, then yes, no more mot's for you until you sort it.

You're breaking my heart !!!!

Good call that man.

If it was me I wouldnt swap the engines, just had the impression that yewcheck wanted a yellow car.

Stu is that the one where the cruise control usually is?

oh and does/did the cruise work?

Don't worry not painting it yellow or swapping engines!

Engine looks like it has to come out due to the manifold blowing like a bitch plus a oil leak that seems to be getting worse every day:no:

Just checked the red switch where the cruise control button is and its not connected behind:oops: is it straight forward to reconnect [i cannot see where it went in the first place?]

This model never had cruise control fitted as standard, so no it doesn't have it. The red switch was wired up. I think that Leigh took it to the garage to get all the wiring checked when he had an issue with the alarm so the garage may have removed it. If you have a multimeter you should be able to locate the live wire that was connected to it. If I remember correctly the switch is not earthed itself. it's earthed off the rear lights therefore you'll have an ignition live in and an ignition live out. It may be a good time to get a blanking plate for the left hub where the switch was and wire it to one of the other switches in the center console.

One thing to make sure of is that you put an inline fuse in both sides of the switch. The reason for this is that the rear lights work off a black box (located in the boot on the drivers side behind the panels), if you manage to wire it up incorrectly you are more than likely to blow the relay in the box. The box is sealed so you will need to obtain a new one. Usually around £10 from a 300zx breakers. Problem is that the relay also controls the rest of the lights in the rear cluster, so you will need to either inline fuse it or bypass it completely.

When was the last MOT, I'm sure it's had one since I had it done last. Or is it due now?, I can't remeber how long it's been since I sold it.

It seems as though Silver streak has either been abused or uncared for since I sold her. I'm glad that you own her now as I know you like to take care of your cars.

In terms of what the car would look like with a standard nose panel. Persoanlly I think it looks better than the stillen 4 slot that on there at the moment. I have a picture on photo bucket that I can dig out and load up. I'll have a look around to see if I can find it.

Really nice Pair of Motors:clap::clap:

BUT

Silver Streak is LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAADS BETTER THAN THE YELLOW ONE

IMHO

I agree, i like the silver one, it says something about you,..

Yewcheck, i have a question, did you do the rear tailgate mods to the spoiler etc or was it sent away to be done?

Rich
