Feel it's time for a freshen up 'maybe'. I've been thinking over in my head what to do. Initially, bayside blue....always wanted that colour! BUT, I think I'd want to start again from scratch if doing that and whites are really in at the moment.

I should hopefully be getting a nice bonus toward the end of this year and due a payrise next month! So should have quite a bit more disposable income which I can throw at the Z.

Plans are as follows....some of it goes against what I've said in the past, but since I'm updating, I think it should work well.

For starters, the interior is staying untouched. Happy with that and will go well with the new paint. I want to get it done in either the new 370Z pearl white or the new Toyota pearl white which I recommended to Madmax....infact it'll be going to the same paintshop as the one he used. I've seen first hand the quality of finish on his Z32 and on his 911 and it's really top notch!

UK-spec blue tint window glass will follow with gloss black roof frames. A 99-spec front bumper with all the OEM grille and other fixings. Possibly 99-spec skirts that I can get through Z32-zone, maybe 99-spec headlights....

..and some 19" BBS LM wheels.

I'll probably leave the pin strip off as with the 99-skirts, they don't look right.

Its just pie in the sky stuff at the moment, but that's how I envisage it looking. Everything else will stay the same. Will just get new mouldings and seals etc. Mine are all in really good condition, but I want the 'as-new' look.

......I would stick with the white - perhaps the Lexus pearl if you must change it; then go 99-spec front and BBS wheels. And that is all!

That's kinda what I'd planned. ;)

That was my thoughts aswell actually, get something a bit different, SWB or a Vert?

now that is one F'ing SEXY COLOR :tt1::tt1::tt1:

not really a huge difference between the bbs wheels and the ones you have now is there?

Is that Cobalt Blue? Looks absolutely stunning!

Hopefully one day I'll get to see your car Si, but from what I can see in the images, it looks perfect as is, but I understand you wanting to freshen it.

I know I'm going against the grain, but recently I'm starting to really like the older OEM front bumper and I'd be hesitant about changing it. It looks spot on in most car images that I have seen lately. Look at the Aussie link posted by Gary for example.

I know what you mean, in regards to them both being multispoke style and Si's Advans are very nice, but those BBS LM's give me very naughty thoughts !:drool:

bbs lm's are lovely but keeping them clean would drive me nuts!

Have you seen my wheels?? They are much worse to clean than BBS LM because of the recessed lip!! :)

They are a similar design, but quite different IMO. Plus I'd be going up a size as well.

Since you're comtemplating on a freshen up.. I definately think the ideas you have come up with so far sound very nice. 99 Spec front is IMO the nicest front bumper and the only natural progression for change from the 89>98 spec.. If you can get the 99spec skirts, then go for it. It's got to be either those or kaminari... then, the rear.. what do you think about the Twinz diffuser? (2+2) when it comes available?..

Also, good idea on keeping it white, go for the 370Z pearl :) I saw one in pearl and it looked immense, plus it's Nissan paint so kudos on that!

Wheels, well BBS LMs are IMO some of the best wheels out there for the Z, so yeah, I think you should go for it :)

I did a little photoshop. Doesn't really represent it all that well as there is waayyy too much lip on the rears (and the offset is wrong)...and the centres are not silver...and the badge is not black. I don't want them that dished. BBS LMs look better with a less pronounced lip. But gives you an idea of what mine will hopefully look like. His a super white pearl and also the newer style/UK windows.

Love 99 specs - however, I think the glass change over will be a feck on - never fancied just tinting your windows Black?.. or Smoked? - would like to hear your opinion on tinted black glass..

and, so when you hoping to have this done by anyways Simon?

Nope, I actually want the more modern look of a bluey green tint. The rear screen will have a light tint to match the black roof bars.

I do like tinted black glass, but alas, in the UK, you can only tint the rear 1/4 windows and that looks terrible as it contrasts really badly with standard tint on the the front windows.

As for time considerations. Well, hoping to get the wheels by the end of the year and then have it in the paint shop over the winter. It's all pretty tentive. But this is what I plan all going well.

2 ways. 1, via Japanese Yahoo auctions or a new set via my friend who works for a big Audi dealership (trade rates).

I'll budget around £2,500 I think. New retail they are about £3,500!! I know it's expensive, but I've ALWAYS wanted a set and I think it's just time to bite the bullet. Mine are worth about £700. New, these were about £3k.

I agree with you on that, mine already came with limo black on the rear and the sides when I imported it, and I will be keeping them on. One thing I am going to do is get a custom tint for the fronts which will allow me to go as dark as I can legally by taking samples to the police station and getting them to light test it, considering it already has a bronze tint and I don't know the glass thickness it wouldn't be safe to assume a set percentage tint would be adequate.

Wheels are going to be amazing, my favourite wheels for the Z by far. :)

You're also gonna have to get the 99 spec skirts imported too, I presume from Japan.. gonna have to factor in a few month for those babies to arrive and they wont be cheap lol.. getting me quite excited reading all this as it's what I aim with mine lol

Still undecided about the 99 skirts. I like them....I dunno. There are some nice skirts for the Z32, but none really match the 99-front end perfectly. I really like Impul, Kaminari and stillen skirts, but they fill the swage line. I'd have to stick with stock front end, stillen skirts with front and rear bumper extensions. But not sure I want to do that.

I'd have to see what that looks like before I can give an honest opinion.. Kaminari though, are very nice - but I don't like the idea of the door fillers.. :-/
