this is my e-mail to him,

Hi, I am not the complaining type, but that throttle body cover I have just recieved, that took nearly 2 weeks to arrive, is not what I expected, It looks like it has been painted by a child and I cannot possibly put that on my car!, I won it for £2.20 and then you charge me £12 for postage? It cost £1.85? I am not happy and would like a full or parcial refund.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Darren.

looks ok in the ebay listing?? what a mess though!! didnt you see the post prices before hand?

Postage: £12.00 Seller's Standard Rate

Shocking as it is, you agreed to that rate when you bid on the item, so you don't have a leg to stand on in that respect.

The rest of it, it looks utter shite. Wouldn't have bid on it. Can see from the photo it looks dodgy in places.

Bad luck mate. :(

he over charged some other guy too if you look at his feedback

"happy with item but charged me £19 p&p an it only cost £4.41"

Probably another person who didn't read the sellers postage fees.

I am not condoning the high fees, but if they are stated in his auction, which they are, then the buyer only has themselves to blame.

One of those cases of 'reading the small print' I'm afraid. :(

looks like someone is trying to make some cash on the postage system with low cost items.

Sneaky but true! ... and allowed

the guys feedback is good so you never know he might give you a refund but you would more than likely have to pay return postage and you probably wouldn't get the £12 postage back from him either, by my reckoning that means you could be in for a payday refund of 35p!!

It also states no refunds so you might not even get that 35p. And the postage time I think he is just about on time as it states he would dispatch within three days of a cleared payment and given that it ended in the evening of 14th it seems like he may have been a day or so late sending it.

The joys of ebay, at least it wasn't an expensive item

Sorry , had to go for my tea.

I realised before I purchased it the postage was high, but I just thought he was trying to cover his customising costs!! what a load of crap, I wonder if he is a member on here??

Ha, he has just emailed me back;

Dear vapor666,

Hi,

Apologies for the delay in shipment, but the part is as described and a photo was present? The total cost was £12, less postage and fees. So surely a tenner for a throttle body cover is more than fare.

Put his user name in ur favorites Daz, then when he sells more, bid on it and win, then refuse to pay until you get some sort of result from this purchase. Grind him matey!!

Al.

Its just one of those things daz that you just have to log to experience.

The seller as not done much wrong and a complaint will be awarded against you, I suppose it is as described in a fashion, his photo does look a lot better than yours!!! the postage charge is as clear as day and by the way i thought ebay were trying to control some of the postage rates.

Being as I have 1500 fb's and have 100% record, I would not be comfortable selling an item that is very economical with the photo used.

You have no alternative but to strip it back and start a fresh yourself.

I think as a total package the price is ok, what would you pay if it was standard?

Best thing for that Daz is a lick of paint, I painted mine with hammered finish paint, I'll take a pic for you as it looks good!

Thanks for all your comments guy`s, The guy is ignoring my e-mails now, so i think i will give him some neutral feedback, negative is a bit harsh as it was quite cheap and was kinda as described, live and learn i suppose!

Lets take a look at you picture then Baz! or i will see it soon when i call for my zausts :santa:

ebay/paypal are trying to stop this - and currently have a 'sympathetic ear' towards such complaints and it would be worth complaining to them direct and asking for a postage refund.
