Fitted these today, 100% sure its all fitted correctly, tho went out a nice long drive to warm the car up then went on boost.

No noise what-so-ever.:surrender:

Anything stupid i might have done? e-mailed z1 about it and they just described how to install it which i already did the way they have said. And the chap then said he cant think on why it wouldnt make a noise. These are brand new never touched until today when i fitted them........

year later im still waiting for replacement calliper 'O' rings.....£15 for 4 10mm 'O'rings.....i just bought new callipers instead ffs

lol. think a year is abit of a pisstake, have you kept e-mailing them?

Thing thats bugging me, these are brand new parts.....there should be nothign wrong with them they should bolt straight on and work!

they didnt turn up for a month then emailed them solidly for about 3 weeks, then after a month, (and boredom) then they said the'd send another set TOTALLY FREE OF CHARGE (cheers) that never arrived, so when a set of callipers came up on here with discs and braided lines i gave up on the O rings

lol.

Ive contacted them several times and a chap called john was dealign with me. He gave me a diagram of how to fit them.......which i already did told him the problem was the valves themselves, then after that he typed how to fit them.lol.

Ive informed him of other people having the problem and needing softer springs but he will not answer me on getting softer springs sent over to me(hence why i tried chopping mines)

When i tested them after the chop using my thumb to push it up the seemed ok, didnt think i was using that much pressure just wont work in the car now.lol.

and owning a 300zx isnt willy waving?

No, owning a GTO is!

what i dont get is this "chopping the spring" busines.

Surely, if your cutting the spring, you'll be altering the amount of pressure that the valve can hold?

And since you dont really know how much to cut off of it, you could potentially cut the spring too much and make the valve actuate before you hit full boost, yes?

i chopped the spring as it will reduce the force pushing against the piston inside the bov, allowing it to open. There is a chance of chopping to much off and the bov wouldnt reset, constantly passing air through.

So one coil at a time was removed and then the spring test fitted to lift. Then if you chop to much off you can always put more washers in as they supply you with 6.

why dont you pressure test them with a given pressure to see what they blow at

dont have the facilities mate.

I will be returning it back to normal in the morning as im fed up with it.

but a spring is made so that its a progresive pressure ..now it wont be calibrated right, the washes change the spring hieght not the spring pressure if that makes any sence

compresser with an adjuster valve....easy peasy mate

hmmmmmm, ok im pritty sure what your saying and i understand.

What i was thinking is, the spring is giving a constant pressure on the piston inside the bov, if that is shortened you can make the spring softer as there will not be as much pressure in it, which then allows the air from the car to push the piston up and the spring is then soft enough to allow movement but strong enough when no air it will re-seat the piston. I had tried this out to ensure they both re-seat.

Dont have a compressor lying about mate:(

Im just going to go back to stock mate, i have asked z1 for a softer spring tho nothing back yet.

Until i can obtain a proper softer spring for the valve i will just keep the car re-circ in.

Cheers buddy.

dump valves sound nice but Not even worth all this hassle, just annoyed i spent that amount of cash at z1 now!

Roll on the summer ae guys:D!

used to have spring bovs but after similar hassle you having i decided to spent money more wisely and i end up buying hks units . no probs since .. and yeah z1 are horrible to deal with . never again

Best go for hks ones then. Are they loud? What recent do they go off at?

thats how hks sounds

they go off at any time you take your foot from the pedal .. they have membrane rather than oldfahioned spring ..

No it does'nt STICK TO ROOFING LOL.

post some pics of how you have installed them and some pics of the insides and we will tell you what to do.

i prefer recircs but mine were leaking so installed a single BOV which is working fine with no side affects although the spring is a little hard resulting in a little stall at 2psi.

It's ok jimmy, I just stuck the recircs back on. Just waiting on a replacement springs from z1. Probably just sell these ones once I have returned them back to normal and get hks.

What make are your alloys jimmy?

No it does'nt STICK TO ROOFING LOL.

why is it small old men have to always shout...shut the fvk up and get back to your dominos:hammer::hammer:
