Nothing worse than an old dry patch or an old wet patch !!!!

Chris try some diluted patio cleaner or brick cleaner, might get most up and make it look better, but some will still remain where its stained the tarmac.

You can try some Tescos Premium Cat Litter Extra Absorbant - the dusty granular stuff. It works brilliantly on concrete!!! Do small test first though.

yup, a guy buys tesco own brand coke by the pallet load and he told my sister it is to clean his workshop floor of oil

Just be careful that anything you use is not petroleum based. It will degrade the tarmac.

You won't notice it right away, but it will.

Problem with the oil is that it soaks in, you clean it, and next hot day, chances are the mark will be back.

Gets some concentrated dish washing soap on it and leave it. Give it a week, and do it again, and rinse off with a boiled kettle, then plenty of water to rinse.

Accept the fact that it is going to show up again when the sun comes out, and you will need to do it a few times. It will disappear over time.

cheers to all posters....I went for the brick /patio cleaner worked in with a stiff brush and blasted off with pressure washer...the brick cleaner foams away for 10 mins and lifts up the oil into a brown bubbly scum... then you can rinse it down

not bad at £4.50 for 5 litres
