A guy round here, lets call him ' japanese car driver' had his garage broken into a few weeks ago, this was the third garage hes had opened or lost stuff from.Bikes, plumbing gear, tools cars damaged.

The usual pattern goes that some get broken into, then the following night the rest.

So he rented yet another council one opposite a row houses . :taz:

Last night the one next door+ two more were opened up by the fairies? .

So jap car owner is seriously considering a cold night inside the garage (a bike+ car in there already) with a flask, blanket+ a baseball bat, in case he gets bored+ fancies a game in the night :whistling:

Its supposed to be a low crime rate area here too :gun_bandana:

The police didnt bother turning up this time, as ' we will only tell you to put a new lock on it'.

So, what would you do??

can you not get it alarmed with activation straight to your mobile? soon as mobile alerts go off you call plod & inform them 'intruder on premises'

Or go for a late game of hard ball:yes:

I'd personally weld several more locks to the door. I once put floor pins and padlocks on my old garage as well as the lock that was already there.

I have however voted to "sit and wait all night with bat in hand (baseball bat that is). The police are only interested when you do 33 in a 30 zone or have a number plate with slightly smaller digits (which are legal on jap imports)

Peter

get him to put a pin into one of those 'rape alarm' things that is hooked to the door, so when it is opened it pulls out the pin and makes a huge amount of noise and scare the living shit out of the thieves and wait patiently in this car round the corner :) In the darkness waiting to pounce like a panther :)

Sit and wait bud, My mate`s photography studio in Manchester kept getting broke into, so he bought a shotgun blank cartridge holder that attached to the door and when opened by others a big bang scared the shit out of them, they are illegal now, but still available :w00t:

WARNING!! permanent ear damage may occur :gun_bandana:

Break both collarbones , in a nice way .

Wearing a mask , shouting " I woz `ere first , you slaaag ! " , to put them off the scent lol

Better to rent the garage next to it as well and wait in that one. Then you can catch them with stuff taken and batter them and claim it was all in self defence

Police............What police.....................we must have the worst police force in the world. I have lost all respect for them. But there is no alternartive unfortunately.

Unfortunately if the scumbags want it they will just take it no matter how much time and money you spend on security even more so now with unemployment as high as it is.

Let the police deal with it?

The police aren’t interested unless they catch them red handed because it means a mountain of paper work for them.

Sit waiting all night?

How long do you wait? Every night of the week? week in week out? You know the night you don’t wait is the night they break in. If you do manage to get hold of the thieving fookers your not going to stop till he’s on the floor with baseball bat impression over 80% of he body then your in court for gbh and he gets of with £50 fine and 20 hrs community service that he wont turn up for. Then he will come back with his mate’s days, weeks, months later and break in away.

Hope alls well + try to sleep at home?

How can you live knowing that it’s only a matter of time before the inevitable happens!

Accept this as part of normal life now?

This would be my choice. Imo the way the law stands and the current situation no matter what you do you lose! Find another garage simple!

If its a metal up and over door, i would rig it to the electric supply, the minute they touch it, big big shock. At the end of the day, its not supposed to be legal, but neither is sitting there with a baseball bat. They will think twice about toughing the garage again

Th 'jap car driver' said its blody cold in there.lol.

At 4 am, the handle was tried+ got leaped out on.Good job he was oneof the neighbours.

Bikes, tools + crap is now moved to yet another garage.

Heres hoping its ok.

The results of this poll are not helping my 'lets not up sticks + emigrate to

australia' plan.... :censored:

Yes the aussies have got crime too

They are also unbelieveably strict on 'in city' speed limits+ not so bothered outside the cities.

The point is that over there criminals can expect long harsh sentences + community punishments that are deliberatly made high profile to 'shame' offenders.Repeat offenders are treated harsher still.

People are almost expected, not punished for defending themselves in their homes.

Whilst near me The local plod said ' we think we know who it is as its the same method in a lot of these kinda break-ins, but hes a junkie so the courts keep letting him out.We get frustrated with it ourselves' FFS

So now the elderly couple next to my garage block are too afraid to walk their dog after dark, in case 'that mans about'

Pissed off? me

Yeh rehabilitation rocks :thumbup1:
