Took my car for a spin earlier, following a bit of weight reduction and replacing the standard intercoolers for ARC uprated side mounts. I've also concentrated my efforts to have maximum airflow to the front of the intercoolers, and also flow out of the back of them. Its made a HUUUGE difference to acceleration, more than I'd ever expect! its still running standard boost too. It'll be SORN'd tonight so I can do lots to it next month. Can't wait for the summer when its got loads more of go-faster goodies on!!

Tell us more Baz - how did you improve the airflow so dramatically?

tbh, the change shouldn't of really made a noticeble difference, not at stock boost and in this weather.

Sure your stock intercoolers or pipework were not leaking before ?

hmmm, got me thinking now if there were problems before, I've owned 2 zeds prior to this one and they seemed similar in performance in fairly standard form. It was certainly a massively noticable difference.

Regards to alterations for improved airflow, theres massive thanks to AlanZ & Smithy for their input, I have removed the huge washer bottle and replaced it with a relocated small one (from a mk1 fiesta lol had it in the garage!) removed the coolant overflow tank, cut the front arch liners, removed carbon canister. In the process of making some custom corner lamp/ducts which will also help and then finalise the modified standard ducts.
