car has been parked up for a few weeks & not run. Decided to put battery on charge but can't get in as alarm fob isn't opening the doors. Both key fob batteries seem ok- any ideas how to get in or to release the bonnet to connect battery charger??

Sorry, should have said, have keys but the door locks seem 'stiff' & I don't want to break a key in a lock & create another problem. Never normally use the key - on driver door do you turn key to right or left? will use WD40 & try again once I am sure which is the right way to turn.

connect your battery charger to your starter motor positive and to earth. Turn on the charger then press the fob door will open. then lift bonnet and charge your battery

Do you have a long thin piece of metal??

Its probably de-locked, I've done it to two of my old zeds. Disconnected rods for lock-mechanism.

You dont want to know

The door has no window frame. so you can pull the glass back slightly and slide your part down to the latch and open it up. Its fiddley but thats what i did when the keys got locked in the car :thumbup1:

How long a piece do I need? will a straightened coat hanger work??

I had a drain on my Z'ds battery so i am a bit of an expert on this..I have a small inflatable pad that i slide in behind the window, pump it up a little bit so there is a gap created and then feed in a long metal hook to unlatch the door lock while gently pulling on the door handle. It can be kinda stiff so try both sides as my passenger is a bugger but the driver side is easy.

useful tool i charge £50 to even leave the garage with it. My one came with two rods with hooks. I think i paid £30 all in.

Will try my doll 'Helga' - she's lost her looks so have been looking for a new role for her! (Will actually try an inflatable camping pillow- if that doesn't work will try one of those inflatable pillows for flights/travellers.)

EUREKA!! (not a swedish furniture store). It was a piece of pxxs! suggest this is used as the default solution to similar problems in the future!
