Hey folks due to the recent news from zedworld that my current engine is knackered due to low compression i need to get my spare engine stripped and rebuilt as quick as possible and put in as soon as i can so just need to confirm that my list of parts is correct and if there is anything else i will need. Looking at using nissan parts for this engine and as cheap as i can as my current engine will now be the one im gonna use to uprate the internals.

My spare engine is an automatic twin turbo engine with head gaskets gone but it has been confirmed that the bottom end is fine. Now i know that i will have to use my current turbos and balance pipe as they are different to a manual engine but is there anything else?

My rebuild list is below let me know if i miss anything cheers

2 x head gaskets OEM

water pump gasket

valve cover gasket set with plenum gasket

front coolant pipe gaskets

timing belt

turbo gaskets

EGR bypass

plenum water bypass

renew turbo coolant rubber hoses and all gaskets

head bolts

oil filter

new engine oil Millers

Im also going to fit my exedy hyper clutch and flywheel that ive had for a while.

As i said im not looking to spend loads on this engine as i will do that for the engine that is currently in so any gaskets or cheap parts that would be worth upgrading would be good to let me know.

Also going to remove the A/C system, EGR as i said before and carbon cannistor.

Thanks for the help everyone.

are you 100% sure it needs a skim mate?....get a high quality dead straight rule and check first not all gasket failure warp heads etc....could save you money and time no end

Ah ok possibly not then i will check once i strip the engine apart

TBH mate, anyone who opens up one of these 20 year old odd engines and doesn't fit new Pistons and bottom end bearings is nuts.

Both have wear after all this time, both are now cheaply available and both will set you back a small fortune should they go in the near future and lastly, both are cheapt to fit once the engine is open.

So just buy this and job done :-)

Yep i understand what you are saying however its the difference between 200 to get the head gaskets done and other parts or over a grand to replace everything and tbh as i have a spare engine i can use my spare as my project to use a kit like the one you have listed.

I wouldnt like to spend over a grand on my engine unless i was rebuilding with the best parts which will come in the future but having just found out my lowest piston is on 70psi compression i kinda need my other engine in asap.
