Cheers for that chap, was just looing for standard stuff to top mine up as ill be going manual very soon I have some dexron atf 2 at home just not sure if i can use it???

for the money i reckon its worth chucking in a bottle of the lucas stop slip when changing over the fluid, dont overfill the box of course, did my change on the driveway with engine running and in gear, its a fiddle at first but then very easy, you have to chock the wheels and have handbrake on of course...pull off the gearbox feed line that goes to the cooler/rad and point into a large deep tray (fluid comes out with some speed so be careful)....as you run in gear the old cr@p will flow out at the same time keep pouring the new in through the filler pipe....you'll see the colour change after a few bottles and know you have replaced all the old with nice new fluid etc...ideally get a mate to help :D

aha just saw your post...ok well any atf from motor factors will do most will exceed dexronII etc

Might see if Jeff has time while im at zedworld on saturday

Either dexon 2 or dexon 3, all are compatible and Dexon 3 superceeds Dexron 2, which superceeds the Dexron (1) specified by Nissan.

Cheers!

We flush our boxes on Mercs this way as they suffer from the torque converter juddering due to contamination - this sorts them out & makes the box change so much smoother!

Well worth it IMO :thumbup1:

ha....yours isnt even on the road Paul...:p

its on a very nice ramp tho!! :crying:
