anyway i have photo'd them in the box for you to have a look at.

the ballasts are not the slim type but this does not bother me.

i cannot fit just yet as my wife is wrapping them and putting them away for my birthday on the 8th march, she will not let me have them early :cursing:

i went for the 55w type as i believe these are a bit brighter, this is stamped on along with 6000k and H3, so it is hoped i do have 55w as they look no different in the box from 35w ones.

ps. they were £38 delivered.

No way!!! you have to wait till the 8th of March till you fit them!!!!:glare: . Tell her the Hid`s will be no use then as the nights are getting lighter, and you will never be able to use the Wonderful birthday present she has bought you

oooh nice... HIDs are certainly a good upgrade for a Z!

might buy some for the fto if there that cheap:thumbup1:

Same as mine Dave, same price but both sets of mine are the 35w 6000k, really happy with them mate, I reckon the 55w will be a better option though

wow, do these fit as a straight fitment to the zed?, if so i can feel my wallet going get some playing.

Anyone else got them, and what do you think?

not straight fit at all . but i managed no problem .

Will these fit a jap import ? I beleive you need H3C

Cheerz

Chris

When fitting Halogen bulbs Imports require H3c, however for HID fitment you just want H3.

They are a straight fit, I wonder what you fitted then ?

High beam mod is already done so roll on the 8th march.

i have to wait for the gift even though i have paid for it myself, what a mug i am.

going to finish work at 7pm when they are fitted instead of 5 so i can drive home in the dark!!!

i do have jap so yes you do need H3C for halogen, as above H3 is the correct fitment for mine.

ask wife every day if i can fit them but she says nnooooo!!!!

Just to add, for those thinking of buying HID, get the 55w ones. I put on some 35w and they are worse than the extra bright xenon bulbs i had.

They look nice and have a nice white look to the road, but not bright enough.

I cant see from the pics of the specifics of that kit, but I have fitted about 15-20 HID kits in Z's, and every single one was straight forward plug'n'play. They should have a couple of space connectors at the end that you push into the stock connector and everything else just plugs together.

not arrived yet of course. i think i read somewhere that these are 5000k colour? not too bothered about the front fogs lighting up the road :whistling:

i just want them to match roughly the 6000k hid's. :cool3:

Cool, i got the 4 smd white led 501 for the side lights this morning and a very bright, so they should do the job for the fogs no problem

Anyone know off the top of their head if DTA do 35w or 55w? I'm being lazy....I got a set last summer and though they are much brighter than my stock lamps they're nowhere near as bright as I thought they would/should be.

Annoys me when a beamer/merc comes flying past and I realise I actually still couldn't see half the road as they light it all up!

The reason for that will be that the Inside of your headlights are dirty, even though they may not look it. You would not believe the difference it makes taking apart a set of headligths and cleaning them.

That sounds very plausible...and a job that I'd love to do but getting the lights out is an absolute PITA right?? The bolt you have to get at from underneath somehow stumped me and I was very quick to give up as it had just started raining!!

FYI -

I sell both 35W and 55W HID conversion kits. The 35W kits are BY FAR the most popular and are roughly 300% brighter than halogen bulbs. If, after installing your HID kit, you find that the light output is lower then you WILL have very dirty headlights (both inside and outside the glass). It is common knowledge that HID light (rated at 5000~6000K) reflects much more off dirt particles than halogen light (rated at roughly 2800~4500K). This is also what causes "glare" and why it is a legal requirement for HID equipped cars (ie, oem factory fitted) to have headlight cleaning equipment.

From my experience, 35W 6000K HID kits are what people should be installing. The 55W kits are too bright for normal road use and WILL blind oncoming traffic if the headlights are not properly adjusted and/or dirty.

For fog light applications HID kits are of absolutely no use. Fog light units project a very wide beam (nearly 90-degrees) but don't project it very far (mostly 4~6 meters ahead of the car only). First of all, fitting a H3 HID bulb into the fog light enclosure is going to be very tight / impossible due to the extra length of the bulb. Secondly, if you do manage to install one then the light will be projected straight into the fog (due to the focal point being different) and the result is a well lit up wall of white fog, ie - no practical use. Some of you will have found this out when driving through falling snow these past few weeks. HID's seem to pick up the snow/water particles and light them up rather than projecting "through" the precipitation.

I've currently got a brand new multi SMD fog light bulb that I'm testing out which is rated at 6000K (ie, colour coordinates with our 6000K HID kits), fits into the Z32 fog light enclosure and "should" project sufficient light. This bulb is still in the testing phase but will be released shortly if the tests are positive.

If any one has any questions regarding HID kits, fitting procedure or any other bulbs, please feel free to PM or phone me.

All the best,

the above smd bulbs have arrived from hong kong and i have fit them in the fog lights, please see the pics.

it was not fully dark on the way home but i did shine them into the garage once home and there was not much of a beam from them, i have not got them for that, so i dont care, i will check again when its fully dark and see what they are like.

i am happy with them, what do you think? :walkman:

i do have some different 21w side light bulbs coming anyday and my hope is these will be a lot less yellow!!!! these

:sneaky2:

Dan

I hate to dispute what you are saying but I've got HIDs in both the dipped and Fogs. In very heavy rain and the snow the Fogs worked superbly. They are so low they light along the road where the dipped beams can't

And that was on a drive from Preston to Weston in Torrential Rain and back up in near blizzard conditions.

I suppose I'm just lucky on the fitment but I'm glad I did it
