Sounds as if my fan belt was squeaking when i left work, not on startup, but 50 yards down the road.

I stopped, opened bonnet, sounded as if the fan kicked in and the squeaking stopped simultaneously.

100 yards down the road as i was about to pull out onto the main road, sounded as if the squeak was going to start again, put my foot down a tiny bit and it ceased. No more squeaks on the way home.

Any advice or comments? do i need to replace the fan belt - if so which should i buy? can anyone fit it?

Thanks in advance.

Funny you say that as mine did the same thing yesterday, Its never done it before? It may be the damp cold weather making it slip, once its warm a dry it stops

B4 buying the spray better to check if the belt is loose. And just replace it if you know that it is old... To be on the safe side..

Must be the weather cos my belt started squeaking a bit when it was cold the other day and my belts are really new. Checked my tension and that is still fine
