As you can guess i'm looking at insurance quotes for my Zed, i'm not actually going to b1tch about the difference in quotes from company to company. What i want to know is the difference from broker to insurance company.

 

I went to Auto Direct for a quote, got down to £350, best one i could find, usually it was £500 - £1000. towards the end of the process they mentioned the supplier was Aviva, so, i thought, maybe i can get i cheaper going to them, you know, cut out the middle man. Well imagine my surprise when the like for like quote came to £758.

 

Is something going on between the insurance companies and the brokers to keep the brokers in business..

these are non-exclusive syndication deals, they get a better rate as they have taken the policy off the hands of the insurance co possibly with a package of other policies, if you phone them direct you get the FOff quote etc
