Can't you get some compo from the council for that?

Fookin roads are like beirut round here, pot holes the size of buckets!

Won't be long till theres a fatalaty due to the state of the roads

round here, cant imagine riding a motorbike on the roads!

I heard somewhere that the council put aside more money each year

for compensating motorists than the actual road budgets...

thats a good point... i know of a few people who have claimed from the council for this sort of damage

its like it round here too particually since the cold spell. Still no suspension component should fail like that, im sure the nissan item wouldnt.

ill be making some shims up to go under mine when i want to adjust the camber

Thats 3 powertrix failures (tension arm previously, and now upper arm and arb link) for you now ?

Car would have to be completely standard/ oem parts for them to entertain a claim...

yep, every powertrix unit i have brought is now in the bin:bored:

Sorry to hear about and see what damage our UK roads have caused to your car suspension. It is a well known fact that all suspension parts suffer more wear and tear on UK roads than any other roads in the EU. Can't remember where I read it but apparently a study on shock absorbers showed that in the UK they require replacing no less than 60% sooner than elsewhere in the EU.

I don't think it is fair to insinuate that Powertrix parts are poor quality. It is unfortunate that there have been a (relatively) small number of product failures but it must be remembered that these parts are designed for use on uprated cars for use on race tracks (ie, where there are no potholes, speedbumps, curbs, etc). The parts work perfectly well for 99.9% of the customers who also use their cars on public roads. However, there are no suspension parts which are impervious to sudden massive impacts (such as hitting big potholes, speed calming devices or curbs). OEM equipment will fail in those instances as well.

Powertrix suspension parts are still considered to be one of the best on the market. All parts are carefully designed and extensively tested prior to commercial release. Performance and safety is never compromised by cost factors.

No performance parts are perfect and I'm convinced that any other branded components (like SPL or TEIN) would have failed as well under the same circumstances.

I hope you manage to receive compensation from your local council.

Regards,

anyone else managed to sheer a top arm??

Oh dear!

Any manufacturers guarantee?

You might get a free replacement but then again you might not want them!

I won't be buying Powertrix now.

Andy

faith in powetrix products = LOST :batman:

Why? the only person on here that's reported a fail, ever and i've never seen anyone anywhere else too.

sorry to see that :( hang on, I've got powertrix arms :headvswal ...

Both Powertrix and SPL being the main distributors of Z32 specific adjustable suspension offer a 1 year gaurantee, like many other manufactures for various parts.

Theses arms are nearly 6 years old now.

That all said, it was raised by me 2 years ago if the upper arms were actually fitted the correct way round, which if they wern't, would contribute to failed tension rods, which is what 1st happened.

I am not saying they are fitted incorrectly now, but given the 1st failure to teh tension rods 2 years ago and now this, it is very possible and i know many people have made mistakes with this in the past, it is very easily done.

Arms from these suppliers MUST be fitted the correct way round as many others that are sold on ebay and drift works etc are intended for Skyline fitment but will fit the Zed, however there are minor differences between them.

I have previously posted pics showing the result of incorrect Z32 arms and incorrectly fitted ones too.

Further more these kind of parts should be inspected and maintained on a regular basis. I know the ones Luke was selling required regreasing at regular intervals but doubt anyone ever does!

Finally, both Powertrix and SPL often make changes to their products if a particular component becomes availabale that they feel would make the product better, aalbeit suspension or otherwise. They both track Zeds in the US themselves and use this as part of their product testing and development.

Hence Z32 specific aplications for parts and constant improvements and developments in their products.

Cheers

Smithy,

Is there a post about this on here you can direct me too?

What are the subtle differences to look out for?

well i can tell you now, i had fitted these in the correct orientation and i very much doubt it had anything to do with the failure of the tension rods, after all, my tein tension rods are as sold as when they first went on.

all i know is, i have lost faith in powertrix which i thought were a highly reguarded product, i would'nt have brought them in the first place if i thought any differently.

its going to be SPL, tein and drift works from now on for me.

i appolagise if this offends anyone but, for me, the proof was in the pudding

I would be more pissed off with the pot holes not the product. When you change from the manufacturers chunky rubber bushed components to lighter, adjustable stiffer items designed for the track, on our roads you run a higher risk of failure.

Suspension is next on my list and will just have to accept the risk of the same happening.
