Hi there thanks for the tip,but just my luck thay dont do imports :(

Yes they do on the classic policy as they quoted me this morning, they were only £50 cheaper :mad2: and my current insurer was happy to match that. :sailor:

My insurance company made no issue whatsoever about the fact it was an import compared to a UK car, i think there is a bit of hype regarding this issue, My brokers are Aquote in Andover and my first year with them was through Norwich Union (now Aviva)

I paid £320 fully comp, free AA recovery cover, last renewal they tried to up the excess to £600 which was twice the insurance policy so i moved to groupama, i Paid £300 fc and 300excess.

I have full no claims and protection, 42, and live in a low crime area.

Its worth having a shop around, the area you live plays a big part in price.

They wouldn't quote me when I renewed last week as mine's an import and not old enough for a classic policy.

After a lot of ringing round Adrian Flux were the cheapest but I think it'll always vary depending on circumstances. There's no getting away from all the ringing round if you want the best price.

i use Adrian Flux on my GTR but was not happy they said i couldn't have classic car insurance cause its an import. im sure people on here have imports on classic?

im going through this at the moment! adrian flux are not benig as helpfull as they could be with regards to no claims... be aware guys classic policies dont earn no claims!... lynbrook rang me back to say they couldnt insure me and carolnash aparantly only cover over 30's :s

im sure they make the rules up with every person who phones, if five zed owners phoned up, all the same age, same cars i bet they get five different reasons why they cant be insured

Tell me about it, i've just had a lengthy chat to flux and they havnt managed to do anthing lol. Although ive 4 years no claims now so it doesnt matter so much. I dont think anymore will alter insurance that much for me in the future on other cars.
