So fired up the ever reliable Vectra this morning and was amazed to see the oustide temperature was minus 9.5C !!!! was so amazed I took a picture.

However just 11 minutes later and two miles down the country lane where I live I could not believe that it fell and fell to minus 14C !! had to pull over and take the photo, personally I have never seen this kind of temp in the UK ever. I guess any of you guys up Scotland will think nothing of it but still wow!!

Me neither Jeff.....

.....I saw -10 for a brief moment this morning whilst I was out in the sticks near Chequers. However once I got to work it was a nice cosy -5:biggrin:

Not quite as cold as yours but for down south that's almost arctic conditions!!!

Richard:yes:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Nope we still think its fookin baltic.

Have seen it at -24 here years ago though. That was fun at 5 in the morning trying to get a fleet of artics mobile with all the air lines and even the diesel freezing!

I was listening to the radio on my way to work this morning.

Someone called in saying that their thermometer was reading -20 and another said their's was reading -14.

Who need's to go to the alps when we can go skiing up the road, eh?

fookin hell Jeff, thats cold! My alfa doesn't seem to read minus figures so just shows zero :(

-7 here the other week while at the teams paintball site helping build new games.

Had daily -20+ temps while out in canada a few years back while doing winter repair

i think were all doomed.....-14 is bloody unbearable!....was -6 here....just loaded a lorry and i am bloody froze.....glad my office is nice and warm:thumbup:

Been cold down here and the only thing frozen on my Zed has been the door locks ! And thats with it stasnding outside overnight

Quick blast with the hair dryer and the locks unfreeze and it starts first time every time

Well looked after Jeff and Jamie.... Thanks

Jackie Graham?

It's official...temperatures reached the same level as the South Pole...Scientists have verified this with a photograph of a lass on the Toon last night wearing a coat.....A leading expert said if these temperatures continue we may see tights within a week.

We were checking periodically during the day yesterday and the temp never got above -8 in East Kilbride all day.

It was -10 in the morning when I got to the office and -11 when I left.

It's not just the UK. MIAMI (AP) — Record low temperatures chilled Florida from top to bottom Monday, endangering fruit and vegetable crops and taxing the power grid of a state unaccustomed to the cold.

The National Weather Service reported 36 degrees at the Miami airport, beating an 82-year-old record of 37 degrees. It dipped to 42 degrees in Key West, one degree off the record and the second-coldest reading since 1873.

“I even had ice on my car this morning, which was an unbelievable sight for Miami,” said Dan Gregoria, meteorologist with the National Weather Service.

It was 14 degrees Monday morning in Tallahassee, breaking the record of 15 set in 1982. Record-tying lows of 29 were observed in Orlando, and Tampa’s 25-degree weather beat its old record of 27.

South Florida is usually around 68 degrees this time of year.
