Basically to cut a long story short, i had a problem with my zed some time back. My car has been parked up for 2 yrs come May . I wanted to get this sorted LONG ago then i was laid off from work (credit crunch etc) so the car was SORN and left on my drive thinking I would get around to it. Well, time has gone by, and I did have someone come look at it and we never got her running. I dont earn much money coz I have been working towards my teaching qualifications over the last year after redundancy and i've been doing a bit of volunteer work too. The thing is the zed ran perfect all the time while i had it up until i fitted the dump valves (probably unrelated). Problem was when I drove the car kinda just hesitated and cut out. over the last year I posted many times on other site and was told it could be my MAF, PTU etc etc and i did try replacing all these with known working replacements and still no life to my zed. I then went back to the original recircs, and still doesnt work. The new yrs here, and 2day I look at it and over the last few weeks/maybe longer, everytime I see it, it pisses me off now. Its full of snow and stood there dead. What should I do? Fixing it and selling it really isn't an option coz I just cant afford to get it seen to? I really dont want to break it? Is it even worth a penny in a non running situation... thanks for reading that LONG thread. Oh well. Hope to hear from you guys, one sad and confused Jazzy

What sort of dump valves u used?

baileys dv36s but they long gone and replaced with stand recircs once again.

yes yes and yes i think.

So when you try to turn her over what happens? Does the starter try to engage or anything or jusy dead???

when you moved the cas did you make some witness marks so you could put it back in the same place?

it kinda sounds as thou it wants to start, like when u start any other car, but it doesnt seem to fire up, if that makes sense?

tbh 100% honest, i never touched it, mikey bean did come look at it, i think he did move the CAS and i dont know if he marked where it was originally.

Is it getting fuel. Fuel filter issue or pump. Cold start issue maybe. Massive vac issue?

MMMmmm.

pull the hose off exit end of fuel filter, crank for a sec with cup at end, if cup fills with fuel its not fuel related :)

Does sound like CAS Sensor. Check the little plug by the Boost hoses (On side of CAS unit) just wiggle it to make sure its in :)

Have you done an ecu check??

code 55. each time. :death:

Just a simple one!, make sure the battery is FULLY charged!! They/mine seem to need full power to start correctly!!

Pull all connectors off under the bonnet,(one at a time) and check for green corrosion, remove corrosion with wire brush/wd40 and reconnect.

Stick a tenners worth of new fuel in her, if you know how to, clean all the spark plugs or just buy new (£6 each)

Check all the suggestions the lads have made and get back to us!! When you swapped the MAF, ptu etc, were the replacments deffo ok? does the fuel pump under the car make a sound on click of the ignition?

well, i purchased them as working from forum members, and yeah it does make click sound.

will have to check everything, once snow has gone. i really not motivated to even look at the car to b honest :(

im off to the gym now

Absolutly sure there are no imobiliser issues?

good call my GTR was fine then cut out, then went did this 3 times over a 16mile trip then cut out totally. I started stripping my car on the side of the road, behind the ignition was a massive cable that had been spliced into and was never soldered right. this was going to the immobiliser
