Been for my first drive in the new shorty tonight, apart from the test drive of course.

I have report, it goes well however:

brakes need work, headlights rubbish, wipers rubbish and 275/35 tyres also rubbish on snow.... It is now parked at the bottom of my hill unable to get to the house. Pesky cars! So i should have bought a FORD as the Driver Returned On Foot....!

Still such an awesome car! Needs a bit of fettling, but nothing a couple of mornings in the workshop cant rectify! Knocked it into high boost for one gear change and decided against it again when it spun up in 4th :s Why do i always buy 300zx's in winter???

Just tried to go and rescue it but it aint going no where! Couldnt even get it to move from its parking spot. Still snowing here! Its safely tucked away behind a wall and on a bit of the road no one drives on. I've got some pics from the other day! But not much snow on them!

Aye i know, I did feel sorry about taking it off him if truth be told! But needs must, To be fair i think he'll go get another asap! I'm just cursing this dam weather! First I couldnt insure the dam thing because they offices were shut. Now I cant drive the dam thing ebcause of the weather! Did about 30 miles last night to get the feel for it but damit I wanted more! On the plus side, the fuel reserve light works on this one as I've found out on my way from home to the petrol station.

True to common form for a 300zx, I pulled up into the petrol station and you get 20 questions, 3 people came over to speak to me and the attendant commented on it!

LOL never a dull moment with a zed.

Glad your happy with it chris :) brakes may need bleeding again as we only did the fronts so just be careful until you do the rears as well ;)

Your mad taking it out in this weather :scared:

Lol my mate couldnt get his fwd diesel golf up the same hill so I dont think its driver ability ;) Amazingly I did get further than him! LOL Silly wide tyres make it impossibly difficult to grip on snow ontop of ice. Sadly i live up lanes which arnt gritted, and the grit bins have run out days ago!

just use sand.

thats what my father has been doing due to the grit bin running out

LOL - speaking of wide tyres vs snow:

Just watched an acquintance drive his MY08 Lamborghini LP640 up his rather steep drive (he took the car to Scotland for New Year's). I've not seen a dirtier LP in my life! Front tyres are around 265 and rears a massive 335. He managed it but only just! Think it was his complete disregard for consequences should it go wrong :) He just powered on up the drive and the 4-wheel drive system did the rest ... Lucky SOB! Even my Jeep Grand Cherokee had a lot of grip problems today.

On a side note, have just watched in complete amazement as Barry Chav and Co. tried to go around a corner in 15cm snow with a far too optimistic entry speed. The resultant mess was worth a picture (shame I didn't have my camera on me ...) :) They all got out unscathed though which is the main point. Did they learn something from this experience ... probably not ... :(

Be careful out there everyone!

Well theres drivers and theres drivers:winkiss: nice zed though, surprised kirbz let it go but needs must an all that

What's that small gauge railway track going around that Close all about then matey???

  • Author

That "Close" is my driveway im affraid. The railway is my dad and I's hobby. Not a common known thing, but its our 1/3mile 7 1/4" railway. :) I'll perhaps stick some pictures up in the members forums if people are interested?
